at being annoyed with my nail technician...?

Yeah ok I know not a major thing but seen as I pay her for a service I am a little..well ok then..a lot annoyed.

She works fof a chain of nail bars and I have changed from my usual nail technician to this one around 6 months ago as I was impressed with the results etc.
They are not cheap BTW but its my little luxary.

Well on sat I was 10 mins late...nope not stuck in traffic BUT in the shop next door...typically I get the slooooooooooooowwww sales assistant. I turn up to appointment and aploogise BUT she isn't there and im told to take a seat and she will be there in a few mins...10 mins later she turns up and comments "oh I didn't think you were coming so I went to the toilet".! (well how about calling me on my mobile 1st) Then tells me "oh you are now 20 mins late so its to late for me to do the full job....Instead only the pinks can be done, nail growth isn't that obvious"

Well actually it was and to disguise my nail underneath she has just added a french nail polish...

I was shocked by how she was and felt like I was being told off like a little girl at school, told her I was only 5-10 mins late to try and make her relaise that if she hadn't buggered of to the toilet that maybe I COULD have had the full works.

Other thing is during my appointment she left me several time to take phone calls, and to help put other nail technicians. Left me thinking that this was time that could have allowed me to have had the full works.

I would love to show my disgust with my feet and go elsewhere BUT thing is usually a good job is done and I also have paid up for another 6 appointments (discounted and good deal)..............

AIBU..?

Oh one last thing............I never tip, only at the end of the year (basically the years added together).........she can feck off this year.

You were late, and you don't tip.
I'd have buggered off to the loo too!

The taking phone calls and helping other technicians whilst saying she didn't have time for you would have annoyed me, though.

So you are 50% unreasonable!

No I didn't call...maybe be because usually its me left waiting. Sidn't think 5-10 mins would be such an issue.

Obviously it was.

You do sound very cross about the whole thing.
My initial post was lighthearted.

Kathyate6mincepies · 10/12/2007 15:39

What is a nail technician?

SHHHHsantaiscoming · 10/12/2007 15:46

didn't mean to sound cross or to have a go at you hc..sorry.. Yes, I am annoyed. Just felt that she could have made an execption esp as only a few weeks ago she was 30 mins late as the woman before me was late, she had made an exception then...

Nail technician: Does manicures,nail extensions,pedicures etc.. x

Oh I see. Thanks
FWIW, I think she was out of order.

Kathyate6mincepies · 10/12/2007 15:48

....because if she is often late herself then she can't go all self-righteous when you are.

Saturn74 · 10/12/2007 15:49

No, it's fine, SHHHH - I just meant that I had obviously misjudged quite how cross you are about the whole thing.

SHHHHsantaiscoming · 10/12/2007 16:10

thanks Kathy, suppose thats my point and also I feel that if we pay for a service then ther should be a bit more flexability iykwim. We all have busy lives and sometimes a little goes a long way imo.

No probs HC. x
