to stir everyone up about Christmas?

I love Christmas SOOO much! I love the lights, the people who decorate their houses (one day that will be me), people who are happy seeing 'santa' in the shops, Christmas carols, leaving a sack for santa, having a good (not overly extravagant)meal with people I love etc.
I don't go consumer crazy, I buy one thing per family member and closest friends that will be used not thrown out, and this year I have about 3 small quality gifts for my DS, nothing for my DH (it's a deal we have - maybe a chocolate bar).
It seems a bit sad listening to some people on here. Does anyone feel as excited as me?
I look forward to and plan Christmas all year, this year we're camping at beautiful Fraser Island!!
BTW, I know I'm fortunate and care deeply for those going through hard times.

If you love it, then enjoy it!

Fraser Island

And yes I love Christmas especially as dd is old enough to get all excited this year.

ColdPenguin · 09/12/2007 09:08

Not jealous about the Fraser Island bit. Have spent 3 days on there. Nice place if you like that kind of thing, but CHRISTMAS?!?!?!!?!?!?

See what you mean about the 'not overly extravagent' meal!

liath · 09/12/2007 09:24

Suppose you could BBQ a passing dingo!!

It'd be a different Christmas I must say but TBH I always felt odd having Christmas in an Australian summer anyway.

ColdPenguin · 09/12/2007 09:32

I would like to see the face on one of those rangers if someone BBQ'd a dingo!

liath · 09/12/2007 09:44

Probably not much meat on them mind you.

The buggers stole our sausages when we camped (despite being assured by our Australian pals that they were in a dingo-proof esky....).

lispy · 09/12/2007 11:02

OK, the christmas lunch is at a restaurant on the island

Is anyone else looking forward to it?? Looks like it's just me and liath...
