How much house work do you do in a day?

Just that really! I feel like if I don't scrub whole house in one day that I'm a lazy bastard!

I have 3 dogs and 2 cats, so need to vac and mop quite often

@frenchiemummy92

Laundry daily but don't put it away till the basket is full. Hoover & mop downstairs & clean kitchen daily. Everything else is done every 2-3 days
My laundry basket is going down as I seem to use it as a wardrobe, putting it away to take it out next day seems pointless. I looked at the cooker this morning and thought Yuck so I may feel like doing something about it later, much late, maybe even next week.

I used to do weekly while glide blitz and loved it - listened to music or podcasts. Then daily maybe 30 mins whatever needing.
Then a series of bereavements and other ‘stuff’ left me rather changed. Not much mojo. Try to keep things tidy. Bathroom and kitchen cleaned weekly. Other rooms can be very hit and miss. Eg as I ‘speak’ I don’t think I’ve hoovered my sitting room for many weeks.

‘Whole house blitz’ that should read.

Depends. If I'm working a 12 hour shift then very little. But that's what I have a cleaner for. Anyway, the house is too big for one person to keep clean and tidy and work full time. I did some research and when it was built the original owner had a domestic staff of six, seven if you include the gardener. However I do clean the bathrooms, irrespective. I have a thing about that.

The house gets a good going over once a week when the cleaner comes. In addition I wipe down kitchen surfaces and sweep floor daily, clean loo as needed, wipe sinks after use, load / unload dishwasher a couple of times a day and hoover if / when it needs it.

@Furries she’s beautiful!! Love to see more of them popping up. The main reason we went for one originally was the no drool thing compared to Newfie’s etc!

We didn’t intend on 3, things escalated Grin

Furries · 07/10/2021 13:15

@Housebears - an escalation of Leos, love it! I saw a programme recently with a family who had five Newfies - they used a mop to wipe down walls and ceilings daily to clear up the drool. Definitely couldn’t add that to my list of (non-existent) cleaning!

Chicchicchicchiclana · 07/10/2021 13:24

Apart from laundry, dishes and cooking I do about 1 or maybe 2 hours a week.

NotMyCat · 07/10/2021 15:48

Live alone with a cat and do 30 mins every weekday
Nothing at weekends

Wazzzzzzzup · 07/10/2021 15:51

Some days none except putting dishes into dishwasher and wiping the counter after cooking. I don't really count that.
No pets but grew up with number of pets and none of us did lots every day

Two adults, both WFH, no dependents

Cleaner comes twice a week, so there is not much to do.

We tidy up as we go along, run dishwasher over night and empty it next morning.

Each do our own washing (clothes, towels and bed linen weekly). The ironing is sent out.

Ideal, really.
