Cheese boards ffs light hearted

Has the cheese board obsession taken over everywhere or just where I live. In the past month iv had at least 8 people try talk me into buying a cheese board off them, I don’t even like cheese. Iv just had a girl I went to school with message me saying she’s doing them and a bloody price list, I ignored the messages. If I tell them I don’t like cheese they try convince me to at least try. The prices are mad and if I really wanted one I could get the stuff in Tesco for half the price.
Has the cheese boards taken over everywhere or do different areas have different fads?

Urgh, what a thought: a box of sweaty dairy products “curated” into an overpriced cheese board.

I’m no hygiene freak but if some of the sweet boxes and grazing tables I’ve seen are anything to go by, a cheese board makes me a bit queasy.

After all, cheese needs to be stored caerphilly.

Where do they get their cheese from? It's not exactly tricky, even in these times, to find a bit of cheese in the shops.
Mind you, the way things are going, we will all be reduced to dairy lea trays.

And what is it with grazing tables? Surely they weren’t always this ugly?

Is this cheese they have made themselves? In which case bit yucky if not sure about hygiene but I guess due some respect. Or is this cheese that they got from aldi and unwrapped to plonk on a plate and cover with clingfilm? In which case weird and yuck.

I have no cheeseboard related market horror stories to add. However I did see two children at the swimming pool eat a cheese string each by biting into it like it was a banana. I have never been so irrationally cross with children that I don't know. Took all my strength not to yell "YOU'RE EATING THE CHEESE WROOOOOONNNG"

What fresh hell is this? I already have a plethora of people trying to flog me cupcake boxes, munch boxes, sweet boxes, graze boxes....... I love cheese but I can go and pick my own. And I have a cheese slate.
Admittedly the graze boxes looked good but were ridiculously over priced.
Was it a Halloween themed cheese box?

My hernia has ruined my life and my cheese options these days are a tablespoon of low fat Philadelphia with a the cracker stop torturing me, or at least show me pictures of the gross grazing tables of sweaty grossness.

@dreamingbohemian I like many on thread LOVE cheese I've eaten many cheeses that others may not have even heard of, when I lived overseas one place we lived the local market had 3 cheese stalls without a cheese repeated - heaven! If I were with your husband I'd be even fatter!

BUT certain types of cheese have to be handled and stored very carefully or as you and dh know you run the risk of causing some seriously horrific even fatal food poisoning.

And as I said in my previous post I feel/suspect that many of those selling cheese boards "created" at home haven't the first clue about the hygiene and food safety aspects

They will also likely be utterly clueless about maintaining the quality of the cheeses
