So we've always had staff toilets issues.
Male dominated workplace so tried not to be too picky.
We had vomit down the loo I got on my arm, shitty stains and once a poo stain on the floor.
I've mentioned repeatedly for yrs about it nothing changes.
It doesn't get cleaned.Today my colleague went up there and when I followed there was vomit one the floor and splashes in the sink.
Later a hand towel was put over it,no mopping or proper hygiene.
I'm disgusted wwyd.?
I find it grim.🤢

Environmental health. Whistleblowing policy? Photos to head office/HR?

whatisforteamum · 06/10/2021 09:08

Is this a whistleblowing issue?
So depressing tbh.Could be the final straw for me.

@whatisforteamum

Nothing is happening. I'm going to tell the next person above I'm using the customer loos now and why. I'm seen as moaning now.
Report to environmental health department - it will be part of your local council.

Yes, it's a whistleblowing issue and you will be protected by the law (so worth having your name recorded by EH, but making it clear that your identity / position should not be disclosed to the management) www.gov.uk/whistleblowing

Surely if someone finds the toilet in a poor state they inform the cleaner who sorts it out? Short of having an attendant in the toilet at all times it is really hard to stop people making a mess.

We had one at our office, someone was sticking used sanitary towels on the wall and leaving used tampons on the floor. We were able to figure out who it was by the cleaner keeping a record and comparing it to who was in work that day etc. HR did have words but it continued until she left.

No as they never get cleaned.
2 of us have a few times but no one else ever does.
They think it's ok

Even a full time cleaner shouldn't have to deal with the mess that op has described. That's not just regular toilet cleaning, as you might have a need to do every few days, it's bordering on biohazard stuff. Lesson #1 in health and safety is you are responsible for the safety of yourself AND OTHERS. It really is that straightforward.

Deffo whistle-blowing stuff, deffo EH as its a food establishment.
