Dirty staff toilets.

So we've always had staff toilets issues.
Male dominated workplace so tried not to be too picky.
We had vomit down the loo I got on my arm, shitty stains and once a poo stain on the floor.
I've mentioned repeatedly for yrs about it nothing changes.
It doesn't get cleaned.Today my colleague went up there and when I followed there was vomit one the floor and splashes in the sink.
Later a hand towel was put over it,no mopping or proper hygiene.
I'm disgusted wwyd.?
I find it grim.🤢

Why didn't you make him go and clean up after himself?

MrsMoastyToasty · 04/10/2021 18:37

If someone is throwing up as a result of alcohol then they need to be reminded of rules about being drunk in the workplace.

HaveANiceFuckingDay · 04/10/2021 18:38

Wheres your cleaner ? I clean a very well known chain of pubs and this particular pub doesnt have half the stuff you're describing as the staff take care of them on an hourly basis and us cleaners go in every morning to clean them property.. and they are food handlers where you are ?? Blood specks sound like coke snorting to me

PearLime · 04/10/2021 18:39

We had a poop smearer at my old job. As in she smeared shit in the ladies.

It got so bad we had to go to the loo in pairs. Plus they put a camera outside the loo to check who had been in.

Eventually the woman was caught and it was found she had a mental health issue which caused her to smear poo.

It was vile.

MrsRobbieHart · 04/10/2021 18:40

OP you cannot let this continue! You’re handling food FFS! You need to report to environmental health.

justasking111 · 04/10/2021 18:42

Environmental health photo dated . This is a food hygiene problem too. One loo is not enough it would seem

WhereYouLeftIt · 04/10/2021 18:42

@whatisforteamum

I know who it is. I will inform my boss.It is made worse by being food handlers.
Food handlers? I'd be informing your local council's Environmental health, not your boss (who's obviously unfit to be in charge of such a facility).
Couldhavebeenme3 · 04/10/2021 18:43

Staff meeting. Fucking back to basics. Basic H&S training is that as well as your own safety, you have a responsibility to ensure that of others. Plus it's bad manners. Never mind fucking disgusting.

You are working in an industry where hygiene is core to your business. If it needs spelling out, fucking spell it out. This needs managing, effectively, immediately. And yes, I'd go as far as threatening EH if the situation wasn't remedied in 48 hours.

Whoever it is needs micromanaging to clean up after themselves, I can't think of a situation that is literally any more gross misconduct than this.

Waspsarearseholes · 04/10/2021 18:44

People do not deserve to get ill because they've eaten food handled by these dirty fuckers.

MordenLarch · 04/10/2021 18:45

Where I used to with someone took it upon themselves to pick their nose and stick their bogies on the wall. No one ever cleaned them off and there must have been a hundred by the end. Every time I think of it I nearly vom. People are gross!

Breadpapercone · 04/10/2021 18:46

Report to environment health

MordenLarch · 04/10/2021 18:48

*work not with

NotMyCat · 04/10/2021 18:48

We had someone who put tuna tins in the sanitary bins at one of my jobs. No idea why Confused

Thankfully our staff toilets are nice now, we have male and female individual ones with a sink in each. The female one is stocked by me with hand cream, hand gel, tampons, pads and poo pourri Grin

Whinginadeville · 04/10/2021 18:48

I'm retired now and have never been in a dirty women's toilet at work, they have always been clean/reasonably clean in 45 years across various jobs and work places. Women only club, pub and theatre toilets are likewise always clean. I feel there's probably an agenda from those claiming otherwise as it's so far removed my experience.

icedcoffees · 04/10/2021 18:49

Where on earth do you work? That's vile.

If you really do work with food, then you should report them to environmental health.

AvonCallingBarksdale · 04/10/2021 18:51

Good god @whatisforteamum where on earth do you work?

BrilliantBetty · 04/10/2021 18:54

Why don't they get cleaners and all staff be warned they must respect the facilities and keep clean.

Mrsbclinton · 04/10/2021 18:55

Good god that sounds vile, especially in a pandemic.

Can you raise the issue with your line manager or union rep?

FinallyHere · 04/10/2021 18:56

This is a genuine health and safety issue.

Decades before the pandemic we spent ages on a disaster recovery business plan. Turned out that the many senior people who thought they were indispensable were wrong.

The only people we really couldn't do without were the cleaners/janitors.

This has got to be something you manage upwards, if necessary to whoever directs the business. Any illness resulting from unhygienic loos would be considered the personal responsibility of the directors.

Sparklesocks · 04/10/2021 18:59

Oh gross.
We had a phantom bogey wall wiper at a job I had about a decade ago, but yours sound next level. Definitely needs to be escalated to management.

whatisforteamum · 04/10/2021 19:08

I will thanks.
I have before on deaf ears so I'm not expecting much.
I may have to go higher.

itsallgoingpearshaped · 04/10/2021 19:11

That's foul. Can't you call some agency anonymously to do a blind inspection for hygiene?

Poo pourri - I hope that's a typo 😆

This thread is grim.

nothingcanhurtmewithmyeyesshut · 04/10/2021 19:18

Take pictures and send to environmental health and copy in your manager. Watch them shit themselves. pun intended

Idontlike · 04/10/2021 19:19

@BarefootHippieChick it’s not what you think Grin
