I used to get away with a £3 toy from Home Bargains but that doesn't seem to cut it anymore. Looking for new suggestions.

Pop tarts for breakfast for DS1 4. He only gets them for his birthday and christmas!

AnnaSW1 · 03/10/2021 19:43

Having chocolate in bed for breakfast ( birthdays/Easter/Christmas day only)

trumpisagit · 03/10/2021 19:44

We had our first ever Dominos tonight. £5.99 each and DS1 (14) was actually grateful.

@AtleastitsnotMonday

When I was a kid I was very easily pleased. Ultimate treat was being allowed to go up to the loft! It was all about climbing the ladder. NB there was absolutely nothing of interest up there. That made no jot of difference. Also remember a time (these things always happened when dad was in charge) he took us to the shop, bought us each a packet of balloons, blew them all up and filled the play room with them. We thought he had recreated Fun House! Genius! A whole afternoons entertainment for £2!
You remind me of my cat! She's there as soon as we get the loft ladder out 😅!

Two year old:
Balloons.
Going down the big slide.
Watermelon.
Walking to the shop for an ice lolly.
Going to the doughnut shop with his big sister.
Seeing his aunties' dogs.

The other one is three months and can be made ecstatic by a bottle.

When he fills up his sticker chart I take him to the local charity shop and let him pick out whatever he wants 🤣

Frogsandsheep · 03/10/2021 19:55

Teenagers:
Domino’s pizza
Krispy Kreme donuts

Younger dc:
Cinema
Party rings

A bigger treat for all of them would be going to Go Ape or an escape room as a family.

Noshowwithoutpunch · 03/10/2021 20:01

Pizza or McDonalds.
Staying up an hour later.

TheUnbearable · 03/10/2021 20:06

It was always chocolate mice from Birds bakery, it’s a bakery in the Midlands, small chain of them. The little teeny mice were about 80p each.

Siameasy · 03/10/2021 20:08

The local builders’ caff
An ice cream parlour
The Chinese buffet (where she refuses to eat anything Chinese)
Trampolining
Swimming

HairyScaryMonster · 03/10/2021 20:08

Mini Lego packet £3.50ish, McD milkshake or a new notebook and pens.

gogohm · 03/10/2021 20:10

@BoredZelda

Ditto. Or cocktails in town ... they love going into the city with us but I'm not fooled it's our wallets they love Grin

Daisychainsandglitter · 03/10/2021 20:11

DD1 a barbie doll- she just loves them.
DD2 a trip to Claire's Accessories and having a drink and cake in a cafe.

TheLovelinessOfDemons · 03/10/2021 20:12

Just asked DS 10, he said a lot of V Bucks! Grin

nc4565 · 03/10/2021 20:13

McDonalds

Taking them to the toy shop and letting them choose 1 toy each (within reason/£20 limit)

AutumnInBustletown · 03/10/2021 20:13

My 2 year old was sooo excited when we bought her new socks with lots of different colourful patterns this week!

She also likes a trip to Dartmoor to see sheep/ horses.

SourMilkGhyll · 03/10/2021 20:25

Teenagers:
A box of figs or blueberries from the supermarket
A visit to the local charity shop to buy books
Hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows

I appreciate the fact that I have very (cheap) and easy to please teenagers!

NoAprilFool · 03/10/2021 20:26

Staying up later than usual. Saturdays are a real treat at the moment - she gets to stay up for Strictly and we snuggle under a blanket with hot chocolate.

lovelybitofsquirrell · 03/10/2021 20:30

Wetherspoons breakie. 😂

Nocutenamesleft · 03/10/2021 20:34

Mine is that they get to do an activity with me alone. We have a few hours. Doing anything. Just me and them
