Anyone remember Morten Harket? AIBU to have just realised his voice is very unique??

Obviously I was in love with him when I was about 10 (more than a few decades ago)! Completely forgot about A-Ha. But just today, I heard his song “Stay on these Roads” randomly on the radio. I knew it was him - what type of voice does he have? I never noticed as a child. So unusual. How does he sing like that?

Literally everyone except the panel knew it was him on The Masked Singer

A painfully beautiful voice. Manages to make me both cry and feel like the world is a better place. Last saw a-ha in 2019 and hoping to again next year. Also saw Morten solo a couple of times which was very different as in smaller venues and obviously singing his solo stuff which was amazing to hear live.

On a different note, oh for one, long, debauched weekend...

Ah "Hunting high and low" was the first pop song I knew / liked. I was only born 1980 but had much older sisters who were teens. I love A Ha. Thanks for posting the video -- I am really ill at the moment and it cheered me up! Agree, amazing voice, does sound like a counter tenor at the top.

@Dixiechick I was at the same concert. Even though there were issues with the sound he was still fabulous and beautiful.

My best friend and I loved him. Leather wrist bands anyone! Gorgeous voice, saw A-ha live a few times.

Just having a swoon moment. I was 11 when I saw Ah-ha on TOTP at a friend's house. I remember seeing Morten and realising for the first time what a crush was . He reportedly a really nice guy too, which is a rare thing in a pop star!
