Hermes guy taking photos of me?

Twice now I’ve answered the door to different Hermes delivery guys to find them pointing a mobile phone in my face to snap a photo?
Obviously they need to prove delivery and are trying to do contactless but I really think this is a bit rude without asking. Surely they should ask?

It does state quite clearly on their website that the driver will take a photo of the parcel in the open doorway as proof of delivery, NOT a photo of the actual recipient. Any Hermes delivery driver who says it's a new policy should be referred to the Hermes website imo

Another reason not to buy from shops that use Hermes.

I think a lot of younger people simply don't possess these social skills or awareness. I recently got my brows done and the young beautician got her phone out for the before and after pics. She didn't ask.

Yeah they've been doing it to me too. Which I hate because I always look like shit and I'm not wearing a bra and the people sending me parcels are work contacts 😩

We younger people definitely do possess the skills of asking and understanding consent to be photographed. Many of us hate it as well. You encountered idiot young people not just young people.

Ours takes our legs

They send you the picture as proof of delivery. They want the package not the receiver. I voted YABU.

They only ever take photos with my feet in, if I’m in them at all. Same with DPD. I’d be annoyed if they stuck a camera in my face!

Came back to this thread today, because the Hermes chap has taken a photo of me…but not the parcel. WFT is that about?
