Hermes guy taking photos of me?

Itsbeen84yearss · 28/09/2021 11:41

Twice now I’ve answered the door to different Hermes delivery guys to find them pointing a mobile phone in my face to snap a photo?
Obviously they need to prove delivery and are trying to do contactless but I really think this is a bit rude without asking. Surely they should ask?

The captions for some of these pic- ‘Startled in doorway’ ‘not so fresh out of the shower’ The last guy actually smirked when he took it

Eh? Captions?

Mine usually takes a picture of me holding the parcel down at my slippers.

NotSoNewAndShiny · 28/09/2021 13:04

I'm not sure rhey're supposed to take a photo if you. Mine takes photos of the package on the porch and leaves after knocking, unless we have to sign or return something. Once, my feet have been caught photo-bombing, when I opened the door.

If I answer, I always close the door slightly as they take pictures so they don't get me in them.

MilduraS · 28/09/2021 13:21

The drivers around here usually put the package on the ground before knocking. If I answer sometimes my feet and legs are in the photo. If I don't it's just a photo of the package. I'd be horrified if they took a photo of what I looked like in the morning 😂

Skysblue · 28/09/2021 13:23

The ones near me apologetically take a photo of the parcel resting by my feet in the open doorway. No one has photographed my face.

Theoldprospector · 28/09/2021 13:23

I love my Hermes photos!

Me in my pyjamas stood next to the dog.

My Hermes driver is very handsome.

BarefootHippieChick · 28/09/2021 13:30

@FreeBritnee

I love how we’re all pretty accepting of the volume of feet photos currently circulating 🤣

Somebody out there is probably making a fortune on fetish photos 😆

NotSoNewAndShiny · 28/09/2021 13:32

Only if they love socks and slippersGrin

SirenSays · 28/09/2021 13:49

I'd rather have photos of my face, they always take pics of my bare feet.

JacquelineCarlyle · 28/09/2021 13:52

I was annoyed with the Hermes delivery I received at the weekend, as was in my pyjamas and he definitely took a photo of my face / whole body and the parcel wouldn't even have been in the shot!

Not sure what can be done about it though but the one on Sunday almost felt like some sort of violation!

1forAll74 · 28/09/2021 13:54

I feel a bit sad now, I have only ever had photo's taken of packages just on the floor, inside my shed, (my safe place ) I don't want any photo's of me, but my three cats all gather round a new cardboard box if they see one anywhere. and that would be a nice photo.

DobbyTheHouseElk · 28/09/2021 13:55

Yes, they used to take photos of the parcel on the doormat, now they thrust the phone in my face and take a picture of me startled.

My lovely Hermes lady, when she is delivering we have an arrangement that she won’t photo my middle section in an unflattering way. She does a hand photo. Apparently I have to be photographed “holding” the package now. She’s lovely, but the others snap away.

One the other day took a hideous photo of my arm reaching so I got startled face and flabby armpit region too.

Tulips15 · 28/09/2021 14:02

They take them of our feet only here

jessycake · 28/09/2021 14:06

They are not supposed to take a photo of your face , I would complain .

CausingChaos2 · 28/09/2021 14:06

I complained to DPD when one of their drivers took a photo of me as they walked down the path without asking. I was bent over in a dress lifting the parcel in Confused

BecauseMyRingBurnsSheila · 28/09/2021 14:11

Near me but not in my Hermes driver's patch (he's ace) there have been so many photos of feet and doormats where the recipient hasn't actually received the package. Some dope/opportunist has taken in the parcel never to return it. So I imagine taking photos of faces reduces this to zero.

adrianmolesmole · 28/09/2021 14:25

I've had this happen to me too and I absolutely HATE it! It shouldn't be allowed without permission actually.

x2boys · 28/09/2021 14:30

Think your self lucky, my sons school takes a photo of me everytime i visit for a meeting, its a special school, so i assume its for security i always try not to look at camera, the screen always asks me if im happy with the photo, no not really 🙄

Froppysue · 28/09/2021 14:31

Oh this has brought up a memory that makes me cringe.. delivery guy says he needs to get a photo so I hold the parcel out and grin, and he just looks at me and says ‘of the parcel, not you’ then he grabs it and put it on the floor before he takes his pic, my feet were in it at least Blush

Bullsh · 28/09/2021 14:32

They snap a photo of it in the porch. Not had a delivery driver knock in a long while! Even when proof of ID needed (buying a knife during lockdown) he phoned me and I showed ID through the window.

CheddarTheDog · 28/09/2021 14:37

Ours always makes sure to get feet so if he’s delivered to a neighbour I can tell by shoes even if he hasn’t said which number it’s at.

But it does feel a bit weird when they’re taking one of you!

Ellie56 · 28/09/2021 14:41

Photos here are usually of an open door, the parcel and someone's feet!

spiderlight · 28/09/2021 14:47

Our dog absolutley loves our Hermes guy. The photos are always my arm hanging onto a singing cocker spaniel.

SolitaryTree · 28/09/2021 14:47

This is why I always remember to shave my toes now 🤣
