Hermes guy taking photos of me?

Twice now I’ve answered the door to different Hermes delivery guys to find them pointing a mobile phone in my face to snap a photo?
Obviously they need to prove delivery and are trying to do contactless but I really think this is a bit rude without asking. Surely they should ask?

I volunteer my dogs, it's either their slobbery mugs or my scuffed floor.

I’ve just been all arsey and complained! Been on my email and this morning’s pic is a shocker 🙈🙈no wonder the guy was sniggering

Ours does parcel on floor.
I open door, they shove parcel on floor, take pic of dog sniffing parcel. Never got my face ever.

It’s usually my feet or one of the dogs which are a giant breed guy knows them in fact he’s the only that does my round. He also says hello and says someone naughty has left the inner door open again.

Mine just gets my feet and/or the dog. Same with DPD etc they never take a photo of the person only the feet 🤣

Our lovely Hermes driver only takes a picture of the parcel on the doorsteps, prior to us opening the door.

Once he did snap DH’s crusty toe when DH opened the door too quickly, I was furious with DH for that being recorded in the Amazon annals of history.

Ours doesn't even ring the bell or knock for some strange reason so there's no danger of any part of me being in the photo.

Looking back at recent parcels we've had though s/he does photograph them on the doorstep.

i've had holey socks with toes poking out and the dog looking like rabid hyena

makes me laugh - i'm just happy to have my parcel

and our local hermes woman is brilliant too, so it must depend on who does your local round

How odd, and rude. They generally take it of the box by my feet, next to my car (and garage.)

I wear a hoodie back to front solely for this purpose

I just watched The Devil Wears Prada on telly recently and opened this thread thinking it was going to be about a Hermes scarf salesperson ...

I think you’re indeed right, it’s rude and a breech of privacy - in your own home.
I would tell him to delete it - he can take a photo of the package on the floor but the rest is off limits.

Royal mail man did this to me today but got our dog to pose for the photo which was quite funny but am sure it took 3 times as long as needed!

My Hermes guy is always very careful not to get me in the picture, and once actually asked if I could put it back down again so he could re-take the shot, as my toddler had wandered into the first pic and he needed to delete it. He said that their guidelines are really strict on it. Yours sounds... creepy :)

Our Hermes actually asked me to step back while he was taking the photo of the parcel. I was near the door and opened too quickly He said that they were not supposed to take photos of people just a parcel near the door and the house’s number if possible.

Our DPD chap says this too. In fact he won’t even pass the thing through the bloody window lest a random part of my anatomy makes it into the picture, I have to restrain the dogs so they don’t make a break for it and open the front door so he can get his doorway shot.

I do think it's pretty inappropriate tbh.

@LuaDipa Yes, I have to stand a couple of feet away as once I was too eager and got told off! (politely asked to put the parcel down again and move away a bit).
