Neighbours stole my takeaway

2 days ago ordered from my local takeaway through deliveroo. Phone ping up saying it had been delivered looked out the window to see the driver getting in his car by the time i got outside he had driven away. Called the takeaway who confirmed it must have been delivered but must have went to the wrong house. There's only really 6 houses it could have went to, 4 of which I know would not have accepted. Went outside to put some stuff in the bin and see my neighbours toddler outside in there garden eating from a pizza box where I ordered from. Takeaway arranged for refund back to me. But honestly can't believe the cheek of my neighbours. Sure it was them as get along with everyone else who are pretty decent and we always give and get parcels for each other. The ones I'm sure took my delivery have only been here about 6 months. My husband convinced me not to go there door about it yesterday as it would have kicked off, as there very loud and I had a polite word with them before about there dog constantly barking and got a mouthful of abuse. Has anyone else had this happen ? How would you deal with it ? Just let it go or say something?

When we order takeaway, my dd puts a note on saying " blue car in drive, reg no so there's absolutely no mistake. Lots of drivers have said thanks, it's not easy at night, finding the right house!

Yes we put a note on clearly identifying position of the house! We are next to a parking bay with big iron gates (all the others have a flat lawn down to the street) so pretty distinctive.

Deliveroo drivers where I am ask for a code from the app before handing the food over. I'd msg Deliveroo via the app, explain situ and ask that they implement this in the area where they live.

Christ what thieving bastards! Did they forget the driver took a picture for your neighbours delivery?! Have they confronted them with that?? You all need to be updating your delivery details for takeaways/Amazon etc to put under no circumstances deliver to house number XX

Neighbours told her amazon had a picture of it on her doorstep but just got a mouthful of "how dare you fking accuse me... everyone round here blames me, bunch of wankers." Its unbelievable. Updated delivery notes with better descriptions of house and not to leave with her. Fingers crossed that solves it and hopefully her lease doesn't get renewed when it runs out.

I think I’d be sure to leave a note about neighbour taking previous delivery.

If they’re that brazen to eat the pizza in their garden right after, I’d be sure to give them wide berth and not go over there.
