I used to be a party animal. LOVED clubbing every weekend (multiple times a week as a student), would dance for hours and laugh and laugh and laugh.

Tonight I am sitting in my cuddle chair putting chewits down my bra to warm them up before I eat them.
I’m home alone.

How life has changed.

Make me feel better, what weird stuff do you do that no one else knows about?!

re monsters in the bedroom, I assume none of you saw Monsters Inc? My all time favourite film, I've not been scared of them in my bedroom since, other parts of the house yes but not the bedroom

ReginaaPhalange · 26/09/2021 23:53

Me and DH have often wondered if our DCat would sound all posh; "oh heavens, what is this peasant food one has served me?" Or if she sounds like a Scottish Ned "awwwwrite ya wee fanny, geez a treat... cheers doll, noo fuck aff ya wee prick"

CatsnCoffee · 26/09/2021 23:58

@Myusernameisnotmyusernameno Doesn’t everyone do that? We do in our house.

Samuraisammy · 27/09/2021 00:10

@ConsulTremas

I have a secret, shameful love for Fray Bentos pies. I don’t do it often but sometimes if I’m home alone and I know everyone will be out for bit, I go buy one, cook it and eat it. I then dispose of the packaging so no-one will ever know.
@ConsulTremas this made me laugh because it reminds me of my OH who has a weird angry personal vendetta against Fray Bentos pies - what’s the shame in them? Don’t think they look so bad myself ha!

@mrsdaltongrant

I have got a rotary clothes line. It's amazing. When I peg the clothes on I walk around it pegging on the item and going back to the bag rather than swinging it round.. I know it swings but I just can't stop doing it.
Take the peg bag with you as you move to the next section?
SunshineCake1 · 27/09/2021 07:01

@Lucythewonderdog

I play hide and seek with my small dogs. If one is chilling out of sight of one I say to the other one, 'Where's X?' and watch her run about looking puzzled and act all pleased and go 'clever girl' when she 'finds' the other one.

It's highly amusing if one of them is off for a groom or at the vets when the other is at home too.

I think this is mean as was the one where the poser hides in the cupboard from her dog.
discombobulatedonion · 27/09/2021 07:06

I genuinely quite often speak to self-service tills.
“Stop pratting around and hurry up!”
“Are you going to accept my card?” (Like it’s going to reply “yes” or “no” in response)
“Where are the bags?!”
“STOP BEEPING AT ME”
sigh “Fine, if that’s how it is”
Then at the end of it all… “thank you Mr. Machine!”

discombobulatedonion · 27/09/2021 07:08

Oh and I genuinely believe I have an invisible friend. I have full blown conversations with “them” (myself)

Buggersticks · 27/09/2021 08:07

Derrymum, I absolutely love your reply ❤️

Buggersticks · 27/09/2021 08:11

I say "thank you, trolley" when I'm at the supermarket putting it back in the trolley bay after my shop, just because I'm grateful it lugged everything around the shop and car park for me.

@ShinyMe

It's coming back to me now *@Ameanstreakamilewide*!

"She's got style, she's got grace, she's got whiskers on her face, she's my Kadi!"

Aw, I miss her, she was really sweet. Must be 2 or 3 years now since she died.

Thank you kindly @ShinyMe

My son and i were singing this all day yesterday and loved every minute of it.
I had to show him the real She's a Lady song on YouTube, so he could get the full benefit of your genius.

I'm going into the office today, so I'll also inflict it on everyone there. 😉
I'll give you full credit, mind you. 👍

letsleepingbabieslie · 27/09/2021 09:00

No. That would be weird. Hmm

ButteryCrackers · 27/09/2021 09:02

@Theworldishard

I used to chew a few mini cheddars , then spit them out and make a sandwich by putting the chewed up lush between two new ones... So good...Blush
Haha I do this aswell!! 🤣

Despite galloping towards old age at breakneck speed...

I will still pop a hole in the bottom of a empty boiled egg shell to stop banished wicked souls being able to use them as a boat to cross the ocean.

(A tale told to me my great Grandmama when I was a child)

Now all I see is plot holes, I mean why couldn't they use a boat or the plastic yogurt pot instead? (but just in case - I still do it!)

Oh Lord, but don't you feel sorry for the banished wicked souls? Everyone needs a boat!

I'd be constantly worrying this one way or the other.

I kiss my spaniel goodnight and tell him he’s ‘ the Goodest old dog in the world’.

I stash and eat Happy Hippos ( hazelnut only) and he licks up the balls that always fall to the floor, he sees the packet and just waits!

DH lowers his electric bed so our huge and agile boxer ‘can get up’. I’ve tried telling him that if the door is left open and the sun spot is warming his bed she has NO trouble having a mid afternoon snooze without the need for bed lowering!

35andThriving · 27/09/2021 10:39

This is a lovely thread.

In this house we have a lot of soft toys, with their own little personalities.

DebHagland · 27/09/2021 10:48

I have a whole alternative set of words to "It wasn't me" by Shaggy about my Bengal cat Coriander aka "Fatty"
Because he is a little git and is always up to something

DedalusBloom · 27/09/2021 12:06

I have a teddy called Horatio who is very learned ( because he has an entire imaginary set of Encyclopaedia Brittanica which is his pride and joy.) He sets us right on many topics when we are unsure as to, say, the state capital of Minnesota. He's also a potty mouthed fool who shouts "BUM!" out of the window at passers by.

The strangest thing about this is that my husband indulges me in this and joins in. BlushGrin

All my kids preferred cuddly toys have personalities of their own.
I love it but I think it says a lot about me and my issues!

4BlueTowers · 27/09/2021 14:25

@felulageller

I check the loo for spiders before sitting down.
DH is Australian. He still checks the loo for spiders and he bangs his shoes before putting them on as well. He has been out of Australia for 20 years. He HAS however, stopped checking the bed for snakes before getting in. (he is from Queensland).
TopperfTroon · 27/09/2021 14:57

Oh God, the bra thing!
I put my nail polish bottle down my bra to warm it up before I use it as it spreads better when it’s less viscous.
The really sad thing is that now my boobs are not what they were, the bottle doesn’t show as a bump. I once lost the damn thing and didn’t find it till it fell out when I was getting ready for bed. Blush

JudgeJ · 27/09/2021 15:06

@Neron

If there's 2 items left on a shelf, that I only need to purchase 1 of - I have to take them both. Can't leave 1, it will get lonely...
You sound like my dear late husband, one year he a saw the last Christmas tree outside a supermarket at almost closing time, he had to buy it so it didn't a have a miserable Christmas!
JudgeJ · 27/09/2021 15:14

@StorminaBcup

I can’t eat kitkats or bounties in public as I nibble all of the chocolate off them first and then just eat the middle.
Isn't that the only legal way of eating them, made easier by a long spell in the freezer, them not you? Last night I had my regulation 4 squares of Ritter Sport peppermint, frozen, I could bite off the lovely thick chocolate then enjoy the minty middle.
Newbabynewhouse · 27/09/2021 15:23

Pick my nose and eat it 😳
