Come home from school run to someone parked on my private parking.

I've blocked them in as there's nowhere else for me to park and left a note to say I next plan to move my car tomorrow AM.

Cheeky fucker hasn't returned yet.

" I bought some chestnut puree & can't remember why. What could I use it for? Foodwise, I mean - keep it clean, ladies."

A delicious recipe for a sort of Eton mess with chestnut puree is here - can thoroughly recommend:

@REP22 Ah thanks for posting the link that has all of the links on Curtsy of MNHQ I couldn't find it

If anyone is going to read them , and I highly recommend you do , make sure you read them in the right order and keep a eye on the dates op posted , it went on for days !

Now back to this thread , @Threearm any movement yet ?

Threearm · 24/09/2021 18:37

The car is still there and neighbour has helpfully blocked their only swivel room.

In all seriousness, what time is a reasonable time to not answer the door?

We've had this happened. The lady that parked in our drive and blocked us in. I confronted her and she apologised saying the house she was visiting didn't have space and no where else to park... I was like yeah and??? That's really not my problem. I might have an emergency and you've prevented me from getting out

ThePurpleOctopus · 24/09/2021 18:38

You're a Mumsnetter, OP. You should never answer the door.

About 6.30 I’d say Smile
Doubledoorsontogarden · 24/09/2021 18:39

1840 is a reasonable time to not answer door

GivenchyDahhling · 24/09/2021 18:39

My worry is that your neighbour is kind and well-meaning and will immediately go and move so he can get out.

Please reassure me that’s not the case.

It’s getting late now. I definitely wouldn’t answer the door now 😝
whynotwhatknot · 24/09/2021 18:40

Tell the neighbour not to let them out!!

Shellfishblastard · 24/09/2021 18:41

That’s a much better diagram, thank you!

Shellfishblastard · 24/09/2021 18:41

Are there shops or restaurants nearby OP?

HerRoyalRisesAgain · 24/09/2021 18:43

It's almost dark out, you can't possibly answer the door now

ShaggerDoDoDo · 24/09/2021 18:44

Ooooh exciting!!!

fairgame84 · 24/09/2021 18:46

Just parking myself here 🚗

You can’t have it both ways. You either block and ignore the door but accept you won’t have the needed parking for tomorrow. Or you answer the door and make them squirm before moving the car and having the necessary space for your visitors tomorrow.
Threearm · 24/09/2021 18:46

They've just rung the doorbell and I am actually sat next to my 4 year old in his bath. No chance I'm answering at the moment.

It's a visitor to the house a couple down with no less than 6 vehicles. Cheeky fuckers.

Madcats · 24/09/2021 18:47

I don't answer the door after 9pm if it is dark and I am not expecting a delivery.

It would probably be some ex con trying to sell me £20 tea towels. Or drunk carol singers.

Penistoe · 24/09/2021 18:47

I liked your original op it had character. Settling in for this. Deffo act dumb when someone says move your car say that’s not my car.

Or sorry no petrol, people were panic buying and I drove home on fumes. Dh is getting some in a can when he gets back. From the rig- October the 7th I think he said.

HerRoyalRisesAgain · 24/09/2021 18:48

Nope. Can't possibly. Your child's bath time is much more important

onegreyhair · 24/09/2021 18:48

New to all this, how do I place mark? is it just making a comment and that marks where I've got to?

stairgates · 24/09/2021 18:48

I'm actually eating popcorn while reading thisGrin

StarCourt · 24/09/2021 18:50

Will the CF go next door??

ButtonMoonLoon · 24/09/2021 18:51

I bet they ring the neighbour’s bell!
