I know women get bashed a lot and there are such high standards to live up to thanks to social media, the media and TV so I wanted to start a thread so we can be positive.

Every time Dr Phillipa is on This Morning I always think she is stunning and seems like a lovely, caring person.

@ShinyMe I will never be able to look at the teddy bear ladies in the same way now.
love all the ladies on that show. they are so talented.
Emma Willis is beautiful so is Oti.

puffylovett · 23/09/2021 08:12

Joanna Gaines! And I keep telling my husband to be more Chip Grin

Forgothowmuchlhatehomeschoolin · 23/09/2021 08:17

@colouringindoors

Julia Bradbury

YES!!
She is beautiful and seems like someone you could be friends with!

Mapletreelane · 23/09/2021 08:19

Emma Willis was first to mind when I saw the title. She just has something!

Vicky McClure - so talented and compassionate.

Fiona Bruce - what a trooper. She is 57! She looks amazing, reads the news with authority, manages to have a giggle on the Antiques Roadshow and reins them all in superbly on Question Time. Always graceful and dignified. Think she is criminally underrated by the public.

Claire Balding. Underrated trailblazer, married to a woman, journalist in what at one time was a man's world, a huge supporter of disability sport and always elegant, witty, knowledgeable and compassionate.

JaneJeffer · 23/09/2021 08:35

Izzie Balmer makes me feel happy.

bluebell34567 · 23/09/2021 08:36

a different one then others mentioned, Jane McDonald. She is fun.

Wotwhywhen · 23/09/2021 08:38

Clare Nasir the meterologist.
She always looks so well put together and professional and in interviews I've seen her in, shes quite charismatic.

DarlingFell · 23/09/2021 08:39

@Guineapigbridge

Alex Polizzi for me Also Susie Dent from 8 out of 10 Cats
I love AP. She’s a gorgeous combo of strong but soft. I love the way she pronounces some words, so charming. She has so much charisma!
Muttly · 23/09/2021 08:42

I know this will be controversial and she isn’t on TV as much anymore but for me it is Meghan Markle. She is beautiful even without makeup and I love her feistiness. I think she is fab.

CoralBells · 23/09/2021 08:42

I love Sandi Toksvig. So funny and intelligent and lovely. I saw her show.

Fireblanket · 23/09/2021 08:44

Georgia Tennant
Emily Maitlis
Emma Thompson
Michaela Coel

ANameChangeAgain · 23/09/2021 08:45

Pp have said in so many words that this is a beauty contest. It isn't. Posters are citing strong women who are good role models, with a side helping of style. It isn't about how pretty they are or how much botox they had.
Mine are Alex Polozzi, Victoria Pendleton, JK Rowling, and recently Alexandre Burke who I'm willing on in SAS.

ANameChangeAgain · 23/09/2021 08:46

^^ Polizzi. My next user name will reference all the typos.

FrauleinSchweiger · 23/09/2021 08:47

@NiceGerbil - you have reminded me of my long departed DGM who was a massive fan of Fatima Whitbread. I have wonderful memories of going round to her house after school for a cup of tea and the latest installment of Fatima's life story (which was probably serialized in the Daily Mail Grin. This was probably in the early 80's?She loved Fatima and was always championing her.

I saw her on that BBC pilgrimage thing, and she seemed to be a very compassionate and contented person for someone who had such a tough background.

IfImLyingImDying · 23/09/2021 08:48

Michaela Coel takes my breath away not only with her looks but what she says and does too.

Sherrystrull · 23/09/2021 08:50

Denise Lewis is an absolute goddess. I'm amazed at her intelligence, poise and dress sense.

VestaTilley · 23/09/2021 08:52

I don’t view women like that. I think our society would be a lot better, and women far happier, if we stopped concentrating on looks full stop.

Enterthedragons · 23/09/2021 08:52

Can’t say I’m loving a thread about judging women’s worth on their appearance. (Not all posts but quite a few of them).

Enterthedragons · 23/09/2021 08:53

Totally agree Vesta

JaneJeffer · 23/09/2021 08:56

RTFT It's not about looks and even if it was, saying someone is gorgeous looking is hardly a crime.

MydogWillow · 23/09/2021 08:59

Angela Scanlon
Julia Bradbury. Didn't know about the cancer Sad
Alex Scott. What a lovely lovely lovely young lady.
Crush on Suzanne Jones too Wink

MydogWillow · 23/09/2021 09:00

Suranne . Bloody autocorrect

Poppydoppy18 · 23/09/2021 09:02

I don’t watch a lot of TV but it’s by far Nigella Lawson and her delicious baking

NigelSlatersXmasTaters · 23/09/2021 09:04

It's so funny how people are influenced by what's on tv currently. And previous posts.

Oti would barely have got a mention in May or June but now she gets loads. Not one person has said Nicola Walker but on a previous thread at peak Last Tango she was the leading MN fave Grin

Same for Sarah Lancashire.

the80sweregreat · 23/09/2021 09:04

I like Emma Willis too.
She seems genuine.
