I know this has been done before, and I’ve read many stories, but I need more! Please tell me your creepy stories!

Mine is

Just over 10 years ago, I got pregnant and had a missed miscarriage, and went to hospital to have the D&C to have the baby removed. Exactly a year to the day after the procedure, I woke in the middle of the night. In my half asleep state, I felt like something was watching me, right next to my head, and I moved. Then suddenly, it felt like a rush of wind went over my face and down my body to my feet. It properly woke me up and I went cold. I turned on the light to see if there was anything in my room, nothing was there. Didn’t have any drinks or anything upstairs, no idea what it could have been. But it has always been a comfort to me thinking that it was my baby saying they were ok.

I have a story that doesn't paint me in the best light perhaps.

I was asked to feed my friend's sister's cat. Said sister lived about a five minute walk away from me. I was told I was welcome to stay and watch a film or whatever, which I did with my partner and a bottle of wine. We had to much to drink and fell asleep and woke up the next morning.

Feeling sheepish we got home at about half 9 the next day. Pretty much as soon as I got through the door I got a text. "Hi (my name), is that you home now?" I didn't recognise the number so I said "Sorry who is this?" No one knew I had been away the night before. Another text. "It's your sister." I don't have a sister? I texted back saying that then thought I was best phoning. I called but they refused to pick up, never answered any more of my texts.

Just so weird that they used my name which whilst not unheard of isn't especially common and texted just after I got through the door? Guessing it was a wrong number but a hell of a coincidence.

I know this thread is old, but years and years ago I used to be able to tell if a house was haunted/spirits were there. I could go visit a friend or wherever and immediately sense if there was something there.

Then i got my first ever flat, moved in and from the get go, I could always feel this nasty dark thing hanging around in my baby sons bedroom. I was a single parent then.

Then one night I could feel this awful dark thing in the bedroom. And I had his cot in with Me as I couldn't have him sleeping in the second bedroom anymore. And there was a shadow literally hanging over his cot. It made me feel sick. Then when my friend who was sleeping over had also noticed it, it started circulating the ceiling very quickly. Making me feel very dizzy. And then it disappeared. it felt less strong than the bigger one.

But this dark big thing was the worst. It was always there and it would always be in the second bedroom or it would come into the lounge but only stand in the doorway, and it would be as wide and as tall as the door. It would never go. I asked some people from the church to come round and pray and it left but before it did it banged the door like hit it with something as if it were really angry.
I hated being home. Other people could sense and feel it too.

Then some months passed and I was on the phone and suddenly a shadow came in to the room and started making me feel really angry and really hot. And I was lying on my bed. It came over and punched me really hard in the chest, in between my breasts. And I felt so angry, I was immediately saying to myself I need to smash my house up and I need to start throwing my things out the 3rd floor window and I opened the window and i was getting resdy to throw my books out the window. And I think seeing day to day people walking to the shops and bus stop made me realise this is utter madness. So I just said God, get rid of this thing please. And the thing left but I could still feel the pain in between my boobs. I left that house and moved on and I met my husband and I converted to Islam. And in Islam, we believe in spirits but we call them jinn. They're not people from old days or history, but they're good or bad, and some.will try to hurt you, some try to talk to you but it's best to avoid them altogether. And if you ever feel scared, say ah oothu bi lahi mina shaitan (satan) ir rajim. Which is God protecting you from the devil and evil spirits.
Since converting to Islam, I had zero problems and never feel anything anymore.

I've witnessed quite a few spooky things over the years, including a presence when I holidayed in Spain, but I wanted to tell this one in particular as it really upset me and still does to this day...

My grandmother, whom I so adored, passed away and the night before her cremation I made a mini shrine on the dining room table. I'd covered the table with a pink paper tablecloth, some flowers, a rosary, her picture in a heart shaped plastic frame and a small candle in a plastic candle holder which had a picture of the Mary Immaculate.

I'd kept a candle burning for most of the day, changing the tea lights over as they ran out. I had to write her eulogy, something I'd struggled to do in my grief but once I began, the words flowed freely. I put it down to the comfort of looking at her picture and the fact that was running out of time!

A little later, DH came home from work and my dad arrived as he was staying the night due to living a couple of hours away. I went to the kitchen to make them both a cuppa and fix them something to eat. We were all in the kitchen chatting and then about 20 minutes later, DH went upstairs to shower. He was halfway up the stairs when he screamed, "FIRE, FIRE!!" U-turned and flew back down the stairs.

He'd caught a glimpse of the dining table from halfway upstairs and saw that it had caught fire.

The Mary Immaculate candle holder and melted and the flame from the candle had caught onto the paper tablecloth which then ignited my grandmother's photo and the rosary beads.

Luckily we put the fire out before the whole table went up.

I was so spooked. Was this a sign of the impending cremation?? If so, I didn't need a reminder! I was quite well aware of the fact that we were cremating my grandmother the next day! I still feel upset about it. Sad

What happened in Spain? This has happened to me too x

@BeagleBeagled

I used to have an orb drift across my curtain and along the wall above my head a few times a week in the middle of the night. The first few times I assumed I was still dreaming but them I made myself sit up and watch it. I haven't seen it for a while. I didn't know they were real or that they could be seen without a camera.
They're not real. On camera they're a speck of dust on the lens or reflecting the flash.

With the naked eye, they're usually cells on the retina (optometrists call them 'floaters').

I don’t think you are right.

My boss at work had an old holiday let. The building was super old, lots of strange things happened there.

One summer he had lots of things go missing from people renting it out so he put up some small cameras inside the property. He brought the video into work and you could see an orb moving around upstairs. The thing that was odd, was that it clearly was moving around the room and then through a wall. The wall was an old doorway that had been previously blocked up - it moving around the original floorplan of the building. We all saw it in the office. This was no speck of dust.

When I was aged 37 I wrote in my diary that I wished I’d gone to a different school from the one I went to because I’d hated my school. The school I wished I’d gone to was 150 miles from where I’d lived as a child and just a standard comprehensive school so obviously not feasible - this was idealistic fantasy! I named the school specifically in my diary. At this time, aged 37, I lived 320 miles from where I’d been brought up as a child.

3 days later I went to a sauna in the leisure centre of my hometown and got talking to a bloke roughly the same age as me. In the conversation it transpired he’d gone to the same school that I wrote about in my diary 3 days earlier that I wished I’d gone to. The location of this sauna is 280 miles from this school I named as well as being 320 miles from my hometown - in a different direction.

I didn’t give this bloke any ‘heads up’ that I wished I’d gone to any school in the area he was from before he mentioned it - and I had gone to the sauna on my own so no one I knew could’ve told the bloke I wished I’d gone to a school in his area before he came out with it iyswim.

Also that was the first time in my life I’d actually written down somewhere I wished I’d gone to a specific school.

As a teenager messing around with an old ouija board in the cellar of my parents house. We weren’t taking it seriously at all, all thought it was a load of rubbish and asking the “ghost” questions like “how big is your willy?” and other similarly stupid things. Obviously it’s not moving at all. Then before we put it away we did one more “is anybody there?” and there was an enormous crash upstairs. We all giggled and screamed ourselves silly, realising it was a coincidence and still not thinking much more about it.

We went upstairs as I’d assumed it was next doers cat that had got in again and knocked something over. Instead the sitting room is absolute chaos. Three paintings had fallen off the wall and smashed, the coffee table had somehow just collapsed as if someone had jumped on it with all four legs buckled and a plant pot had seemingly exploded.

It was absolutely bizarre. I know it wasn’t a ghost or whatever but I simply can’t explain it even 20 years later. And I got grounded for a week for trashing the house as my mum didn’t believe my story.

Sorry, but I can’t get over ‘how big is your willy?’
😂😂😂

It's not really creepy, but...last year, wet Sunday afternoon, I had curled up on the sofa for a reading session. I was sort of reading, sort of dozing, when I heard my dad say my name, very clearly, right into my ear. Woke me up properly but I thought I'd dreamed it, so I went to make a hot drink, then nipped out to the corner shop for some bits. When I got back, I checked my phone and found a message from my brother saying that my dad had fallen down some steps and bashed his head, but that he was home now and seemed to be okay. He'd fallen at the exact time I heard him say my name.

The same thing happened with my mum when she took an overdose (she didn't die)

My dad wasn't one for expressing his love but a few years before he died we were at a benefit dance and we were dancing together and he told me he loved me and he was proud of me. First time that I can remember that he ever sad that out loud even tho he showed me by his actions.

Anyway the day he passed away I was at work when the call came from my mum and I left work and got in the car turned on the engine and "Dance with my father " was being played on the radio.

A couple of years later I was relaxing the story to a work colleague and as I was telling him Dance with my Father came on the radio.

I know this is a revived zombie thread and many posts are chilling especially the fake doctor, but this is lovely.

My mum died last year and the night before I was to leave to go back to Ireland at about 10.25 pm I woke up gasping. I then texted my brother to not tell me if mummy had died. She had just passed away at that moment and my two brothers who were with her were astonished. They kept quiet till I got there.

My dad died 8 years ago, and at the funeral my aunt showed me her necklace. It had an owl pendant hanging from it, and she said my dad had bought it for her as bridesmaid present when he married my mum.
I admired it and thought of it from time to time. Dad was never a "jewellery buying" man, so it surprised me as a little nugget of information I didn't know about him.
I then didn't see my auntie until this past April when we got together for my mums 70th birthday. I mentioned the necklace and she said she'd send me a photo of it when she got home, which she did. A simple gold owl, with black stones for eyes.
We spent the weekend of mums birthday together, and dad was in all our thoughts a lot.

2 days later, I'm pulling onto my driveway and start unloading the boot. Something shining catches my eye. I go over for a look, and there's a metal owl charm, with a short length of chain, just lying in the middle of the driveway. Broken off a necklace or keychain.

Really spooky!

A few months ago I had another case of sleep paralysis which I haven't suffered with in a few years. Every time it's always a small strange little creature climbing on top of me. Well, about 3 months ago me and dp went to bed and he fell asleep. I fell asleep then woke up with sleep paralysis. I couldn't move but my eyes were open and I could see my bedroom around me and dp snoring next to me. I was watching my cats run around like mad things and suddenly I saw four cats not the three we have. I started to try and move to shop this rogue cat away when it turned to look at me and stood up on its back legs and began to transform into this weird little creature about 2.5/3foot tall. Eventfully I snapped out of it and was able to move again. I was a bit freaked out by the weirdness but knew it was just my mind so I went to the bathroom and felt like I was being watched. When I got back to bed I saw the weird creature again in the doorway where the cheeky bastard waved at me and vanished. The next day do woke up and told me all about this weird dream he had where a strange cat had gotten into the house and he didn't know what to do. Needless to say I'm very cautious that no local strays get into our house Grin
