And yellow are the best!

I've just opened a box here and there are 3 brown - they always get left to last.

My personal favourite is the yellow.

Are the brown ones brown inside? I really want to buy the special edition ones now. I love the yellow ones; think I will convince DD that she likes the brown too

FortunaMajor · 17/09/2021 15:02

Found the mint ones cheap in Heron so went exploring in Sainsbury's for more and discovered the orange ones. They are amazing. Should be available in most supermarkets.

Mint

Orange

@NutellaEllaElla

They need to do Bounty - Chocolate/Coconut ones. I may have emailed them to request this plus mixed boxes of After Eights, Chocolate Orange and Bounty. I really feel like a lil MN email campaign would help me lobby them here Grin
That would be AMAZING!

@TakeYourFinalPosition

Nah, the official order is white, pink, yellow, brown.

Thankfully DH likes brown the best, so he has those, I have the pink; and we share the yellows.

Its the same in my house. DH is wrong thinking brown is the best but at least he keeps his hands off the pinks!
Badabingbadabum · 17/09/2021 15:09

The mint ones are terrible. Just didn't work. Mint cake, blugh.

BoredZelda · 17/09/2021 15:12

I’ve never liked them so haven’t had one for decades. Do they really taste different?

BlueberrySugar · 17/09/2021 15:15

YABU the pink one is the best.

IfNot · 17/09/2021 15:15

YANBU OP. Yellow are best brown are worst.
I haven't tried the white ones though. Are they coconut flavour? If not they should be.

shouldistop · 17/09/2021 15:16

Pink then yellow. Brown are the worst but ds1 always goes for them as they're 'chocolate'

Bearsbearsbears40 · 17/09/2021 15:19

I like the brown ones. Must buy a box next time I shop. Definitely need to try the frosty ones, they sound fab! Thanks OP

duckiemonster · 17/09/2021 16:01

Yellow are my least favourite! Pink first, then brown, yellow always get eaten last

Toddlerteaplease · 17/09/2021 16:04

They all taste the same to
Me!

FionasFanjoFondu · 17/09/2021 16:06

Pink
White (Christmas only)
Yellow
Brown
Orange (Halloween only)

This is the correct order

But more importantly, why can't I make sponge like that? I know it's 'plastic sponge' (as it's known in our house) but I still love the fluffy-plastic-lightness of it.

Lanique · 17/09/2021 16:08

They're all lovely but I find the pink sickly. The brown are surprisingly nice; I don't like chocolate cake much but they are light and tasty.

My order is: lemon, brown, pink.

MorganKitten · 17/09/2021 16:08

Orange and green Halloween ones
Pink
Brown
Yellow
White xmas ones

Chasingsquirrels · 17/09/2021 16:11

Pink, brown, yellow

But I've had mint & choc orange recently and they've been really nice.

Lanique · 17/09/2021 16:18

Mint and choc orange
Where for art such beauties to be found @Chasingsquirrels ??

chilledteacher · 17/09/2021 16:18

florentina1 · 17/09/2021 16:20

If you love french fancies try BETTY’S they are amazing.

shouldistop · 17/09/2021 16:21

@FionasFanjoFondu use sunflower oil instead of butter

VitalsStable · 17/09/2021 16:21

Pink ones are definitely the best, then yellow then brown.

I wish they did boxes of just pink 🥲

HippyChickMama · 17/09/2021 16:26

Pink are the best, I once had a giant pink French Fancy birthday cake. ''Twas amazing.

Kenworthington · 17/09/2021 16:28

No way! Cmon , the brown ones are the BEST

ArblemarchTFruitbat · 17/09/2021 16:31

@ReeseWitherfork

Also did anyone else use to call them Fondant Fancies yes, I was immediately debating if I'd been calling them the wrong thing. PP theory that 'french fancies' is the Kipling branded version, as I can't imagine my parents ever spring for the expensive ones.
Yes, 'French Fancies' are the Kipling ones, 'Fondant Fancies' are supermarket own-brand. No difference in quality AFAIK.
