Is it weird for Victoria Secret Pink to have a ‘back to school’ range? It just seems a bit like it’s sexualising school clothing, for example, the first item in this range on their website is a black lace thong. Or maybe I’m being prudish?

They're an American company and "Back to School" is normally aimed at university students too, not just under 18s. So even if it's sexualised clothing, it isn't necessarily inappropriate.

I think the OP was absolutely right in retrospect especially in light of the Epstein connection. I had goosebumps when my daughter first mentioned it and feel absolutely sick knowing what I know. All those who questioned the OPs sentiment were wrong. There should never have been a ranged aimed at teenage girls. It was sick and am so pleased the store closed down.

Victoria’s Secret is for pervy old blokes and has been for years! Its latest effort to imply it’s teen relevant is pathetic. It’s long been the catalogue choice of middle aged men and their shows are nearly exclusively attended by the same demographic

The things in the "Back to School" section on their website are all just innocuous sportswear: joggers, sweatshirts, leggings etc. I can see why some disapprove of the brand as a whole and wouldn't want their daughters to aspire to it, but if they sell inoffensive things like that and want to have a back to school sale on such things then I can't see an issue with it.

I question why anyone would want to post a link to a brand that has had clear links with PDFs even if they are jogging bottoms. Each to their own !!

I would have thought it was obvious. Because VS is known as a lingerie brand and without seeing for themselves most people would assume their "Back to School" sale was encouraging schoolchildren to stock up on new underwear. I know I did.

The fact that it's just sports clothing is important context, as is the point others made about "school" encompassing college/university in US English.

And why should anyone take someone else's word for something when they can see for themselves? The internet runs on clickable links.
