Baby is 3 months old.

DH thinks Disney clothing is "chavvy?"

I think it's fine for babies / children

Some of its tacky, some of its cute.
Depends which items your child is wearing.

olivermcfuddling · 13/09/2021 15:48

Oh dear..my toddler went around as snow white for weeks!

trevthecat · 13/09/2021 15:48

It's personal preference. I don't like it. I agree with your dh

Letsallscreamatthesistene · 13/09/2021 15:49

I dont really like it but then my opinions will be negated when my son inevitably wants to wear his fave charactor tshirt when hes older.

rainbowandglitter · 13/09/2021 15:50

I don't like it either

Divebar2021 · 13/09/2021 15:51

All Disney clothing is not the same. A little onesie with Dumbo on is not the same as full on “Frozen “PJs (with weird netting on the shoulders ) which my DD was bought. Zara have had some very cute clothes with Disney characters on.

HumbugWhale · 13/09/2021 15:52

I don't really like it but I also don't like clothes with slogans or branding on. There is nothing wrong with it though just not my taste.

BananaPB · 13/09/2021 15:52

I think it's fine once they have a preference for characters eg a toddler with Peppa pig T-shirt

CaroleFuckingBaskin · 13/09/2021 15:53

I don't like it. Especially those big plasticky motifs on the front. Which go in the tumble dryer and crack.

CaMePlaitPas · 13/09/2021 15:55

I think it's absolutely fine for kids.

Things start getting dodgy when you see adults dressed in Disney garb though.

Blackkbird · 13/09/2021 15:57

I don't like it.

But each to their own.

BunnytheFriendlyDragon · 13/09/2021 15:58

I think they're cute but DH thinks ALL Disney baby clothing is chavvy. I disagree and he only has a small amount that I have bought.

I must admit I would not have chosen some of the Disney baby gros he has been given.

Like most things, you can get some terrible items and some lovely. A baby wearing head to toe Ralph Lauren is more likely to look 'chavvy' than one in a Disney t shirt.

UniBallEye · 13/09/2021 15:59

I adore little children. toddlers and older, in dress up outfits, going about their daily business. It makes me smile and makes my day!

It's the innocence of it all, teeny tiny 0batman or princess or starwars character etc.

I am not so keen on regular every day clothes with disney or any other branding on it, but it's only personal preference

BunnytheFriendlyDragon · 13/09/2021 16:00

Ok having seen the comments I am rethinking!

They are mostly H&M. People usually comment on his cute clothes. Baby usually wears quite simple clothes.

I do find that most people that use the word 'chavvy', are themselves what most of us would class as quite common. Something your partner might like to ponder?

BunnytheFriendlyDragon · 13/09/2021 16:02

This type of thing

I think it's nice occasionally but already feel put off buying more until baby is onset and insists!

I think it's fine for children and adults.

As long as clothing is clean and suitable for the weather/activity you're doing then that's all that matters imo. And the weather thing is less important unless its extreme weather. My teen lived in shorts all year round as a toddler/infant school age. He refused to wear trousers. No harm was done.

Comedycook · 13/09/2021 16:05

It's tacky imo but of course, I let my dc wear it! As long as their clothes are clean and weather appropriate, I allow them to make their own choices.

StrawberrySanta · 13/09/2021 16:08

Not chavvy at all! Babies/children can wear Disney clothes if the parents like it, it looks cute and I do it with my kids. I don't generally wear Disney clothes myself as an adult (apart from one pair of Vans!) Nothing wrong with it at any age

Meh! I think its fine. Probably wouldnt buy it myself but defo wouldnt 'judge' anyone that did. If you're anything like me in a few months you'll be irritated that they grow so quickly and just buy the cheapest thing thats decent without that much thought!
Gorl · 13/09/2021 16:10

There’s nothing wrong with any clothing! It’s just a matter of taste, and taste is morally neutral.

DoormatBob · 13/09/2021 16:16

He's a baby, not an accessory.

DwangelaForever · 13/09/2021 16:20

People who take offense to their kids wearing character clothing need their heads looked at. They're kids. They like characters if they want something just buy them it. In smaller babies - who cares what you dress them in, as long as they're clean, warm and fed that's what matters. Life isn't a fashion show and image isn't all that important in the grand scheme of thing.
