Baby is 3 months old.

DH thinks Disney clothing is "chavvy?"

I think it's fine for babies / children

I don't like it, but then I don't really like Disney so it holds very little appeal to me. I'm fine with my child wearing their preferred character clothes now he's old enough to fall in love with things.

That said, he had Harry Potter bibs when he was tiny and I loved them :D So I guess if I liked Disney I would think it was cute.

Starlive23 · 13/09/2021 16:22

I know what you mean op but I just think Disney characters on kids clothes are cute, my DD has a few Minnie mouse tops and DS has some clothing with Dumbo on. The Next ones are nice and they aren't exactly cheap or tacky.

drpet49 · 13/09/2021 16:24

* People who take offense to their kids wearing character clothing need their heads looked at. They're kids. They like characters if they want something just buy them it.*

Of course it’s fine, just not to everyone’s taste.

NoBetterthanSheShouldBe · 13/09/2021 16:42

I think they look awful. Like the dressing up clothes for toddlers and above and of course if a child expresses a preference they can have it … but when they are so little?

I also hate Disney nightwear for adult women and Disney ties, so I may be a little bit biased.

RowanAlong · 13/09/2021 16:43

By which I mean, lots of people will find it a bit tacky, and some people also avoid Disney films etc for kids full stop. So it’s up to how you and DH feel - who feels more strongly?

NoBetterthanSheShouldBe · 13/09/2021 16:43

Wasn’t very clear, dressing up clothes good fun and should be worn at every opportunity IMHO.

DontBeAHaterDear · 13/09/2021 16:45

Nah it’s not chavvy. Some of it’s cuter/nicer than other bits though.

EmergencyHydrangea · 13/09/2021 16:45

Your classism is showing

Lulu1919 · 13/09/2021 16:46

Not overly keen ....
But that's me

ChiefAdjusterOfRubensShorts · 13/09/2021 16:47

I’m currently wearing a sweatshirt with Mickey & Pluto on the front.

Your DH would hate me……

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 13/09/2021 16:47

At that age you just dress them in whatever you like, as long as its practical. I personally dont like Disney branded items, but once my DC got to an age they could display a preference, I was happy to oblige.

If you like the Disney items then buy and use them. Dh can go and choose some items he likes too and when he dresses the baby can put them in stuff he likes.

ACPC · 13/09/2021 16:48

If children and babies aren't supposed to wear it, who is? Nigel the 50 year old accountant? Who cares! Put your baby in whatever you want.

WhatATimeToBeAlive · 13/09/2021 16:49

The outfits in the link are cute. I don't think Disney is chavvy at all.

stairgates · 13/09/2021 16:51

A bit rude of your DH to me. What does he mean by chavvy?

GTAlogic · 13/09/2021 16:51

It's fine. My dc are older and like to wear clothes emblazoned with Minecraft, Harry Potter and Lego logos. I don't really like them but it's their choice and I'm happy for them to wear it if I can afford to buy it.

2lsinllama · 13/09/2021 16:51

Your DH would hate my entire house. There is probably a Disney item in every room. All of us have Disney branded clothing. If that makes me a chav then so be it. Am wearing socks with a Mickey Mouse embroidery as I type this!

ComDummings · 13/09/2021 16:52

Your DH is a snob

user1493494961 · 13/09/2021 16:56

Agree with DH.

DoormatBob · 13/09/2021 16:57

There were some interesting comments on the posh thread recently which could apply here.

If you judge a baby based on how stylish you think they look, you have no class worth worrying about.

waybill · 13/09/2021 16:59

Don't worry, it will soon be covered in sick/wee/poo and spend more time in the washing machine than it does on the baby, and be outgrown within weeks. Grin

Shmithecat2 · 13/09/2021 17:04

I'm not a fan of it, nor anything with slogans etc on, for babies or grown ups.

MovingSchmoving · 13/09/2021 17:06

I kind of agree with your DH. But I don’t like any branding or obvious labels/characters on baby clothes. Once they’re toddlers and are choosing themselves then I don’t mind so much. But on small babies I prefer stuff to be more plain.

BobsBurgersisthebest · 13/09/2021 17:10

I don't think they're chavvy at all.

Homemadearmy · 13/09/2021 17:11

I like Disney too I think it's cute. I like babies dressed in baby grows. But that my preference for my own children i don't care what other people dress their kids in.
