to think that people should make an effort to put up a personal profile?

I'm new, and I've done one.
So shouldn't all the regulars who haven't got a public personal profile make one so we can all gawp?
Even if it is all lies.
And yes, I know mine's crap. I'm typing one-handed while b/f. It's a work in progress.
Shall I run and hide now?

Because lots of regulars are regular because they can remain anonymous...........

mishymoo · 04/12/2007 15:23

hands over a pair of trainers

CarmenerryChristmas · 04/12/2007 15:23

Can I ask how you came to be on mn without dc's. Just wondering, you are, of course, very welcome.

EmsMum · 04/12/2007 15:23

I can't even be bothered to think up a good name.

3missyshohoho · 04/12/2007 15:25

I did have one and now I don't. I think it is up to the idividual whether or not she/he has one.

thehollyandtheivy · 04/12/2007 15:26

I think it's up to the individual to put up a profile or not. Mind your own business!

BeeWiseMen · 04/12/2007 15:27

it's when i look at the creating a profile page that I realise just how very very dull I am.

does drinking tea count as a hobby?

fleacircus · 04/12/2007 15:27

I'm on MN without DC - PFB is due in three weeks, I started lurking on TTC and pregnancy boards but the antenatal clubs send me under so now I just hang around in chat, all childless and conspicuous.

Do have a profile though but sometimes secretly wonder if that makes me a bit of a loser. Especially as it's entirely lacking in wit.

jesuswhatnext · 04/12/2007 15:29

i'm fairly new to mn, i don't have a profile though because i'm also a 'lady of a certain age' and have no blardy idea of how to do one!

please forgive me or lend me a small dc to show me how

LoveAngelGabriel · 04/12/2007 15:29

Why? I don't want to share my personal details and pictures of my kids with strangers. No problem with those who do, but it's not for me..

whispywhisp · 04/12/2007 15:30

Yes YABU - I (and probably loads of us) would not use this wonderful site if it meant I (we) could not remain anonymous.

frisbyrat · 04/12/2007 15:31

Whoah, that was fast. I was being a bit tongue in cheek, but I guess I asked for it.
And I have two dc, a girl of 3 and a boy of 10 weeks, but it won't let me use the drop-down thingy...

Why does mumsnet always put 'she does not have children' on the profile even when you put that you have some? I found this problem too.

whispywhisp · 04/12/2007 15:32

Err...sorry...yes you did ask for those comments frisbyrat.

CarmenerryChristmas · 04/12/2007 15:33

Cod had a great one that said simply 'FARK OFF NOSEY PARKER' when you clicked on it

QuintessentialShadowOfYuleTide · 04/12/2007 15:33

I used to have a public profile. I dont anymore. As for those I talk to regularly, they have been "accepted" into my innermost circle of friends and family on Facebook where I am NOT anonymous.

It is how I chose to deal with online friendships. I also go to meet ups. So, I want to make a conscious choice who I let into my life. Simply as.

kittylouise · 04/12/2007 15:34

I have never looked at anyone's profile, to be honest. I can't be arsed. I have a profile set up on mine but am sure nobody has bothered to read it.

I don't really care, but I'm posting on this thread so you can look at my profile and tell everyone what wonderful, gorgeous children I have.

That's all, thank you

QuintessentialShadowOfYuleTide · 04/12/2007 15:39

Yes very beautiful dc's Squonk.

onlyjoking9329 · 04/12/2007 15:42

it really is personal choice.
to change it to say you do have children you have to put some details on the registration page ages/sexs i think.
