to expect my MIL to say happy christmas to my dc

she isn't english and is a hindu but to just ignore a 3 and 5 year when they say happy christmas to her is just so annoying

Praps she can just thank them for their kindness and leave at that. if she doesn't celebrate it, why should she say it.

I have Jewish step family (I'm a a Catholic) and I always say Happy Channukah to them and they say Happy Christmas to me - it's polite and respectful, isn't it? I don't blame you for being a bit miffed, but as she's your MIL, probably best to let it slide. Not worth the hassle!
