How often am I seeing this on Sm these days 🙈

‘And just like that..such and such is 7’ etc etc 🙄

Aibu in doing another massive eye roll at seeing this yet again or am I just a miserable bugger?

My mum buys loads of home magazines, and one of them has 'smiles' ALL the bloody time, as in 'we chose a wood burner for the dining room' smiles Veronica 🙄

Legoisthebest · 09/09/2021 14:50

I find this all very ironic as you are on a website where people say "DD" instead of "my daughter" etc and uses more acronyms than a tub of magnetic fridge letters.

PixelatedLunchbox · 09/09/2021 14:51

I hate the "Hi You" - if you're too lazy to write my name out, don't text at all. #crankycunt

SecretKeeper1 · 09/09/2021 14:52

An ironic thread for a forum which tweely describes every relative as “D” (which I assume stands for dear or darling, but could equally mean dickhead). Grin

The worst of the worst is #makingmemories - none of the others annoy me much, but that makes me feel a bit punchy.

Jinx!

Just go the extra letter and type mum / dad / son. Give poor caps lock a rest Grin

grapewine · 09/09/2021 14:54

I hate the D everything on here. It's completely twee.

grapewine · 09/09/2021 14:55

I see I'm not the only one.

CounsellorTroi · 09/09/2021 14:57

I agree about the Ds although Ddog does make me smile.

MorriseysGladioli · 09/09/2021 14:59

It makes me feel like 'reaching out' to people and 'gifting' them a slap.

Bluesheep8 · 09/09/2021 15:01

🤣

LittleGwyneth · 09/09/2021 15:04

If you don't like it you can just mute, unfollow or log off. No-one is forcing you to look at it.

I think marginally I find people objecting to their friends taking pride in their children's achieves more annoying than the 'boy done good' present posts.

MajorCarolDanvers · 09/09/2021 15:16

Yes you are a miserable bugger

Pipsquiggle · 09/09/2021 15:19

#only18summers and then a load of photos of what a perfect summer they had - everyone smiling, playing nicely together.

It really boils my piss

OneMoreStitch · 09/09/2021 15:25

I know I'm unreasonable, but there are so very, very many modern phrases that get under my skin. It started back in my schooldays when a boy accidentally bumped into me and his apology was "My bad!"

Relying so heavily on that type of slang/cliche/(whatever this stuff is technically called) feels cliquey. It's a way to indicate that you're part of the cool group, the in-crowd, all using the same stupid, trendy phrases. I suppose I'm not cool enough to adopt all the latest slang, because I'd feel ridiculous to even try!

Ugzbugz · 09/09/2021 15:27

You do you seem to become all the rage when covid hit about people wearing masks or not etc
You do you and I'll do me

Or some nonsense, makes me rage as does every other sentence posted.

hellocleveland · 09/09/2021 15:33

The new one that seems to have arrived this year is the 'photo dump'. I just hate that phrase. Someone I know posted photos of their wedding and labelled it a 'wedding photo dump'. A dump? Really?!

neveradullmoment99 · 09/09/2021 15:35

Get off social media. Seriously.

Beenheresincethebook · 09/09/2021 15:41

"Godfrey's first day at school. Here's a picture if you're interested. It's taken four years to get here and we've felt every bloody minute of it. At least he's now out of the house most of the day”.

Now this I would love to see 😂😂😂

Andylion · 09/09/2021 15:52

I hate "Let that sink in".
Or worse, "Let. That. Sink. In.".

herecomesthsun · 09/09/2021 16:07

ooh Bill Bailey

the birthday as a "meaningless milestone of decay"

"in this mad world spun fast
for nothing
lives fly past
helplessly
we look on aghast

ooh cake"

"happy birthday
happy birthday
what a rhapsody of fear
you've strummed the harp of pointlessness
you've survived another year

each little candle
a tiny death knell
a snickering footman
a tolling bell..."

We discovered this on DH's birthday this year, he was very amused.

We don't put photos on Facebook Smile

herecomesthsun · 09/09/2021 16:09

We also have a friend who on his 10th wedding anniversary wrote something very loving to his wife but also said that the last 10 years had been very difficult at times and marriage is really hard work, and he wanted to say that because he was fed up of all the glossy Facebook stuff

OakPine · 09/09/2021 16:15

People who post a picture of their child alongside a baby picture, and friends comment "Awww haven't they grown"

Really? I'm never surprised that a 10 year old is bigger than a 2 week old baby.

I'm miserable obviously.

mummabubs · 09/09/2021 16:15
@Glitterblue I feel the same and it's totally petty 😂

But my mind goes 'No, Sarah, no. Your four year old didn't 'smash it'. At all. They likely just fumbled through the day the same as ALL the other four year olds and no better or worse' 😂
I'm so glad it's not just me that thinks this 😂😂

Libraryghost · 09/09/2021 16:19

‘You can talk’ ‘ Right back at you babe’ Usually in response to a selfie of some fool wearing drag queen make up.

MrsWorriedMother · 09/09/2021 16:20

Oh get over yourselves.
Seriously someone saying something that harmless winds you up.
