NU at all. DD did this to me about a month ago - got sent home from nursery with a temperature which magically disappeared within 5 mins of getting through the front door. Not her fault but AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGHHHHH!

I feel your pain

That's feckin' typical. You have my utmost sympathy.

Fingers crossed it will disappear while he sleeps....

Get some eucalyptus or Vics, drop some in a bowl filled with boiling hot water, then put it in a safe place in their room and close the door. The air will be filled with it and I promise you, it does work wonders. I swear by it now. Only don't put too much in, a teaspoon of Vics or 2 drops of oil.

ConnorTraceptive · 03/12/2007 20:42

you have my symapthy too, have spent a week dealing with "runny boogers"

StressTeddy · 03/12/2007 20:42

Similar here -I've got an appt to get my hair cut tomorrow but DS is not well, won't be going to nursery so it looks like I'll have to cancel.

I wanted the day off today so I told ds that if he said his tummy hurt at nursery, they'd call mummy and I could take him home! Sure bet I thought, give him half an hour and I'd get a phone call.

But oh no, he forgets! This is a boy who hates going and asks to stay at home every bloody morning - and he forgets his get out card!

oliveoil · 03/12/2007 20:44

I could send her to MIL anyway but only Mummy will do when she is ill

hey ho

off to make sandwiches now, life is such fun atm

ds1 always gets ill when he's due to go back to school. I cried when he did that once! (had barely made it through the holidays).

Squirdle · 03/12/2007 21:07

I'm sure Olive won't, Kerry!! I think she is more enraged with the unjustice of having her day off plans scuppered rather than the having to care for an ill child. Well I would be anyway.

Since DS3 started nursery in September I have instructed my 3 that under no uncertain terms must they be ill on a Wednesday or Thursday morning I've waited nearly 5 years for those few hours of peace and no blinking child is going to take them away. I even get cross if DH dares to works from home on those days

Saying that, both small children have coughs nad colds atm, so we shall see

Rhubarb · 03/12/2007 21:13

I'm naffed off that mine aren't!

santassackertysack · 03/12/2007 22:01

Can sympathise as I booked the day off last week to go to get ALL my christmas shopping done and to buy a christmas party dress YET DD got send home from nursery the day before and so had to take her with me and then about an hour into shopping nursery rang me to collect DS!!!!! Twas not amused

unknownrebelbang · 03/12/2007 22:12

I can sympathise too - only in my case it was me I was enraged at. I booked Friday off as TOIL, but then came home from work ill on Thursday.

Spent most of both days in bed.

RosaLuxMundi · 03/12/2007 23:31

I have had DD3 at home today and DD2 angling to follow suit as it looked like a fun deal to her. They are both going to school tomorrow unless they can produce a doctor's certificate by 8am. I need to get some stuff done.

SquiffyonSnowballs · 04/12/2007 17:05

at oliveoil for mentioning the Medicine That Must Not Be Named

Did it do the trick (like it did with my DS last week )?
