Have just tried to do a load of Christmas shopping but there is just page after page of items that are out of stock. I only managed to get one thing that was on my list. I know it's Christmas but that's three weeks not three days away!

LOL. though t'aint funny.
I went there the other day and it was the same. likewise their new "fired-up-kids" thing. that hasn't got any stock either. stick PARTY in when you get to the checkout as well, you deserve the 20%off.

YANBU - why can't the manufacturers make enough of everything? They aren't doing themselves any favours as they must be loosing money.

I had a similar problem with some Lego for DS1 last week and ended up having to pay over the odds on ebay and get is shipped from the US (which was cheaper than any of the UK ebayers were charging).

Somebody is not doing their market research properly.

Lubyloo · 02/12/2007 23:19

Thanks for the code Gigglewitch. I haven't bought the one thing that was on my list as I'm hoping the other bits will come back in next week and then I only need to pay one delivery charge!

I did the same. they are soooooo flippin annoying, at least other companies have cottoned on to letting you order your stuff and delivering it whenever they get some stock
a whole lot better than this bunch of twits. They have joined up with mothercare haven't they - the worst mail-order company on the planet. Hooorrrraaayyy it all looks so promising.

Not.

sb6699 · 02/12/2007 23:51

I had the same problem with the website.

Ended up going to my local shop which didn't have them either but the kindly assistant checked her computer to see when they were due in and is keeping me one aside.

However have been trying for 3 weeks to get a particular gaming chair and tv from Argos while they were doing free delivery and surprise surprise - not available - and none in the 10 closest shops to me.

Lubyloo · 02/12/2007 23:55

I wonder how last minute shoppers are going to manage if there are this many problems with over three weeks to go!

Sb - Does anywhere other than Argos stock the chair and TV you want?

I had the same problem but when I managed to order the one item they did have in stock, they delivered it to the wrong address and sent me a whole load of ribbons and bows boutique stuff which DD will probably like when she is 4 rather than 4mo and we don't have room to store!

I then spent 20 minutes on the 0870 line to try and get my stuff delivered which eventually came 3 weeks late and they sstill haven't collected the other things! grrr not going online there again!

Lubyloo · 03/12/2007 20:02

To add insult to injury I have just checked my email and they have today sent me a 20% off voucher if I order online! Well I would love to but you don't have any bloody stock!!

ELC online are rubbish but the worst online shopping award has to go to Woolworths I think.

fizzbuzz · 03/12/2007 20:06

Oooh, have just sent very fed up email to ELC, as I too have recieved the 20% discount.

Have wanted the white cradle for 2 weeks, but still not due in for 10 days. What is so annoying is SOME but not ALL items can be reserved

Lubyloo · 03/12/2007 20:11

Yes, I was only able to reserve one of the items which were out of stock. I rang them up today and all the other items I want aren't due in until the the middle of January and some items not until February!!! Someone has seriously messed up with their stock levels.

They were like this last year and so I have decided not to bother with them this year despite them sending me 20% off vouchers etc.

I think last minute shoppers cope by keeping things local - worked for me last year

onesparklytwinklymummy · 03/12/2007 21:18

Ha, I had this prob with ELC weeks ago, had to dispatch my mum on a special mission to get a Cut & Play pizza! They are shite & must be losing loads of cash through their shiteness.

JustJaamy · 06/12/2007 20:20

Am currently having a nightmare with ELC online ordering and delivery too. It's appalling. Staff in store are so helpful and polite, even though things aren't in stock. On the phone I find them very rude and dismissive.

No wonder they keep sending out so many 20% off vouchers. They MUST be losing tonnes of custom.
