To think this is actually really creepy?

I've just seen this viral post on the reddit front page. It was posted in a "Made Me Smile" section.

To me it seems very creepy! This bouncer, a stranger, took another drunk (vulnerable) stranger to their home, undressed them and put them to bed and then is happy to let them stay and use their home like a hotel? Bonkers!

Almost like the beginning of a serial killer film or something. The person tries to leave the house only to find they are locked in and can't escape.

To think this is actually really creepy?

@katemuff

I worked in clubs for years, the security I knew were OBSESSIVE about professionalism. I saw them remove creepy men from extremely drunk women, I saw them sit with legless women coaxing info out of them - address etc and calling taxis to ensure they were home safe. This is an act of madness, and almost certainly not true as why would someone risk their job like that?
Good points!

So many drunk people, are they taking them all home?!

I think "drunk tanks" are becoming more common in the UK, specifically meant for dealing very drunk people safely.

If it is real I take it they haven’t seen Promising Young Woman.

ChargingBuck · 01/09/2021 12:02

Oh, it came from Reddit. Must be true then.

Not just attention-seeking bullshit from some saddo with a White Knight complex ...

WhyOhWhyOhWhyyyy · 01/09/2021 12:03

Surely this is not real, if it is it’s majorly creepy.
If you see a drunk woman and want to help her there are many other options that don’t involve taking her back to your house, stripping her and putting her in your bed.
And the fact that it’s a typed note suggests that he has some kind of white knight complex and goes out looking for women to rescue.
Even this is not real, it’s scary how many people are liking the post, I hope it doesn’t inspire any men to actually do this.

BabyLeaf · 01/09/2021 12:05

The ‘don’t panic’ thing would instantly make me assume I’d been taken hostage.

Saw on a news site that this was a female bouncer, not that that makes it any better. It’s a really awful thing to do to someone. Sickening on so many levels.

Well, I didn't say it definitely was true! Like I said in my second post, the sheer number of likes/points it has shows people think it's a good/kind thing to do which surprised me.

I think it belongs more in "Lets Not Meet" or one of those creepy message subreddits, not in "Made Me Smile"

Yeah, the note's formal design makes it seem really weird.

Although in response to some other comments: In many places, including much of the USA, calling the police about a drunk person would put the drunk in more danger.

I found an uncropped image that say "He"

So I do hope it is some saddo with a White Knight complex!

GiveMyHeadPeaceffs · 01/09/2021 12:16

Is it definitely a woman? Could be a drunk bloke...still bloody weird and I doubt it's true.

BeenAsFarAsMercyAndGrand · 01/09/2021 12:17

Creepy AF. If someone is in that state you call the police to assist, not take them home and undress them.

PicsInRed · 01/09/2021 12:18

If it's true, he's almost certainly a serial something or other, and he thinks he's a bit clever with the alibi.

JinglingHellsBells · 01/09/2021 12:23

It's mean to be a joke OP.

Can't you see that?

GammyLeg · 01/09/2021 12:24

Really creepy. Could only be creepier if it was signed “Ted Bundy” at the bottom.

j712adrian · 01/09/2021 12:25

it's probably posted by a 55-year old INCEL pleasuring himself in his mother's basement

Nope. How is it a joke?

This is beyond creepy, I don't believe this was an actual security officer for one moment - they would lose their entire career, not to mention they would be leaving themselves wide open for all sorts of accusations! This would be terrifying. Also, there was a serial rapist who did something similar, acting as a good samaritan inviting very drunk men into his flat nd taking advantage of them - alot of them didn't even know what had happened until years later when the police tracked them down.

Classica · 01/09/2021 12:36

'Your honour, I killed her and turned her head into a lampshade because I'm a NICE GUY who did this nice thing for her and she was insufficiently grateful. I'M.A.NICE.GUY'

MrsTulipTattsyrup · 01/09/2021 12:42

Terrifying if true, though I suspect, and really really hope it’s not.

Wouldn’t it be kidnap if someone took you to their home without your consent? Nobody genuinely employed as a door person would dream of doing this sort of thing, and jeopardise their job, so it sounds like the sort of plan a serial sex offender would come up with.

lurker101 · 01/09/2021 12:43

Hopefully this is just advertising for next season of “You” or something……
Really creepy!

whynotwhatknot · 01/09/2021 12:54

Prob not true but i dont like the clothing part shouldnt be taking off someone elses clothes regardless if they stink

DoYouLikeOwls · 01/09/2021 12:56

@JaninesEyePatch

Looks like it was written by Joe Goldberg from You
It really does.
SukonthaM · 01/09/2021 12:56

All of the people commenting that he should have called the police or an ambulance, where do you live where they provide this service of collecting drunk people? A couple of weeks ago I had to get a taxi to hospital (from a walk in centre) with suspected sepsis after waiting 2 and a half hours for an ambulance that didn’t turn up. A few days after that my 82yo neighbour waited 4 hours for an ambulance after falling and fracturing her skull on her fireplace. The police are even slower in my area. The police/ambulance service generally do not promptly show up to collect people who are too pissed to get themselves home. If there’s a girl on the street too drunk to get home, would you just give the police a ring then leave her there and hope they turn up? If this is true I doubt the bouncer is taking home a drunk/vomiting girl for fun

Fuckityfucksake · 01/09/2021 12:56

I'm sure it's from a film or series. Can I shite remember which one though...something stalkery and not that long ago....
Anyone with a better memory than peri brain fogged me?

AmyDudley · 01/09/2021 13:03

That's weird - I'm just reading a novel where that happens - the girl is very grateful that the guy helped her/ kept her safe/ washed her clothes/ cleaned up her vomit etc. but it turns out he had drugged her drink and while she was unconscious he and his friends had taken pornographic photos of her and sexually assaulted her.

Anyway I digress - yes creepy as fuck. Strange men shouldn't ever be taking of a woman's clothes or taking her back to their place its insane.
