To think it is impossible to get socks to stay on a newborn (recommendations pls!)?

Hello

Just that: I would love recommendations for socks or booties that will stay on my two week old’s feet. He kicks socks off with ease and then cries that he has cold feet, which he hates. This happens constantly through the day.

Help pls!

Don't put on the socks. He doesn't have cold feet. HTH.

Baby blooms socks are amazing and always stay on

Nsws2015 · 29/08/2021 15:42

I used the little sock company, they were the only socks I found that stayed on my little ones feet when he was small.....they're not the cheapest though!

Hate sock ons.

Try the little sock company

Mariposa123 · 29/08/2021 15:45

If it’s 35 degrees outside, does he need socks?

Goingoutinthecar · 29/08/2021 15:48

Tights under trousers
Socks for two year olds pulled up over the bottom of trousers

Hate feels very strong for an item of clothing. Didn’t work for you? Or unethical / shitty company?

H and m basic baby socks stay on pretty well, it’s what we used when Ds was small last year and it was 30+ so too warm for sleepsuits daytime.

BaconAvocado · 30/08/2021 06:28

Ah didn't work for me. Kept losing them. Baby didn't like me putting them on, so the fewer items the better! Found them really fiddly.

Your baby's feet may vary :)

maddy68 · 30/08/2021 06:31

Don't bother with socks it's not winter.

Kanaloa · 30/08/2021 06:34

I would go for some soft booties, they often stay on better, especially if you can get some with the cuff round the ankle bit.

Kanaloa · 30/08/2021 06:35

The ones I mean are like if you look up Nike baby booties - the cuff is quite firm so less easy to kick off.

Lockdownbear · 30/08/2021 06:35

Think about the purpose of socks, they protect feet from shoes rubbing, babies don't wear shoes or need socks. In a central heated house if he doesn't need gloves he doesn't need socks.

If it's really cold when I'd use babygrows or tights. But the majority of the time blankets, foot muff on the pram is plenty. Give up on socks and admire his cute baby toes.

I never got on with sock-ons either they left red marks on my baby's feet.

BaconAvocado · 30/08/2021 06:43

Also when the time comes its easier for them to learn to walk barefoot. But tbh you might as well buy a pair of sock ons and see how you get on.

lovablequalities · 30/08/2021 06:51

Tights.

BaconAvocado · 30/08/2021 06:54

Or leggings with feet!

mynameiscalypso · 30/08/2021 07:01

Why does a baby need socks if it's 35 degrees?

RampantIvy · 30/08/2021 07:01

Why does he need socks if it is 35 degrees?

I kept DD in babygros at that age if it wasn't hot.

SuperSleepyBaby · 30/08/2021 07:05

How do you know he is crying because his feet are cold? It sounds unlikely if it is 35 degrees outside - do you have air conditioning- is it warm in your house?

Mol1628 · 30/08/2021 07:14

Slugs and snails tights. Or I guess any tights but I always loved slugs and snails. On their own in warmer weather and under trousers in winter.

perrierplease · 30/08/2021 07:15

I loved the Robeez booties, the ones with the scrunch around the ankle hold socks on and never kick off when they're little. They have so many styles, my kids loved them and kept choosing their own as slippers until they were about 2.5 years old.

Parker231 · 30/08/2021 07:16

I didn’t put them in socks when they were tiny. They wore babygros for the first nine months and then leggings and T-shirt/jumper.

CecilyP · 30/08/2021 07:16

In a central heated house if he doesn't need gloves he doesn't need socks.

I doubt if OP is in a centrally heated house, bearing in mind she’s said:

I live in a place where it’s currently 35 degrees outside.

In which case he really doesn’t need socks. Not sure how you would know a young baby is crying specifically because their feet are cold. Even with air-con, could he really have cold feet?

CecilyP · 30/08/2021 07:18

Sound way too hot for babygros as well. If it’s warm enough for rompers, socks really aren’t needed.
