I live in the middle of nothingness and have not ordered any takeaways EVER so why have I had two men trying to bring me pizza and curry tonight??
First man came to the door and I thought it was my dh trying to get in as I left my keys in door.Got to door and no keys in so (very unlike me)I shouted through the door'who is it,,,'
'Pizza' he says, I said 'I haven't ordered any' and he says 'oh yeah its for number 35' which would be quite some way from me.
Fair enough but then he asked to come in and phone his office I obviously said no then he followed up by asking if I had a map he leaves.
20mins later a different man appears at door with brown paper bag looking for 74 ffs.Asks me to direct him there and if it was me that ordered a take out?No.74 is 80yrs plus and its 11.30pm so knowing him,its not likely.
My dh works nights and I only have three immediate neighbours who are still not that near to me and very old so felt a bit wary about the whole thing and called the police station to alert them to it.It just seems so suss?
Did I overreact? What would you have done?
I did ring round takeaways to enquire if they had anyone in my area first and no!!
Also I am on a diet so feel doubly peeved that my whole saturday has revolved around food I did not even order lol

Sounds really suspicious to me.

beansprout · 02/12/2007 14:17

I wouldn't hesitate to get the police involved. Hope you are ok.

Everything OK this morning?? It sounds well dodgy to me, my ex's parents used to live in an isolated spot and were very wary about this type of behaviour. I don't think that you overreacted at all, I think you did the sensible thing. Definitley increase security and maybe mention it to your neighbours. They don't sound unrelated incidents do they? Hoping that all is well today....
