Is it true that many Americans will never visit another country

I remember reading an article where it says that many Americans don't have a passport or leave the USA ever in their lives. Just wondering does anyone with knowledge know if this true. Because the US is so big I could imagine people never travelling to another country. I think I read that for those who visit other countries the two most popular countries for people who live in the US to visit aside from their own is Canada and Mexico.

[quote MissConductUS]Even when congressional districts aren't gerrymandered, Democrats cluster more tightly, so their votes are packed into fewer districts.

Congressional districts are apportioned by population. based on the most recent census data. New York City, for example, has multiple congressional districts.

Yes, they are, but that's not what I mean. What I mean is, in urban districts, there are places where a Democrat wins with 90% of the vote or more. Sometimes there isn't even a Republican candidate. Republicans are more spread out, whereas Democrats have a clumping issue. It doesn't matter if you win your seat by 51% or 99%. This makes it easier to gerrymander, in fact. If you look at the Cook PVI there are far more extremely lopsided Democratic districts than Republican.

So what happens is, Democrats may get more votes in total, but spread it across fewer districts. This historically was an issue for the Labour Party in the UK too.

Not RTFT but of all countries I’d consider living in if I could never leave, the US would be the top pick. It’s got beaches, skiing, city breaks, country, desert; it has it all quite frankly.

I agree @JeanneDoe, I live in CA and haven’t wanted to fly anywhere during covid but have managed to go to the desert, the mountains, big cities, wine country and the beach all within a few hours drive. I felt very lucky to be here during the pandemic
