I've had enough now!!!
I've had extremely irregular painful periods for most of my life (ended up in a and e a few times, often blacked out with the pain, nausea, vomiting) which improved after I had my kids 14 years ago but still irregular. Then for the last four years, I have had a 28 day cycle............it feels like the universe is having a laugh..............
I just want out now!!!

LadyDanburysCane - ask your GP to help you explore other progesterone doses / methods, e.g. the Mirena coil, micronised progesterone, continuous patches etc

You're not alone, OP.

I'm 53, and thought I was done having not had a period for about three months. Then a few days ago... BANG! - super heavy period again Sad

Can't wait for them to bugger off.

Really feel for those who've had or having a hard time. Reckon I got lucky, perimenopausal in my late 40s, didn't even realise at first, but hot flushes for a few years and much lighter and shorter bleeds. Cycle went from very regular to any time between 3 and 6 weeks. Stopped at 49 and I'm pretty sure that is it for me, so happy about that! Still get night sweats, but not terrible and no other symptoms, as yet, so count myself very lucky if that con. I hated periods, literally a bloody pain!
