Bit of TAAT but after reading the movies that make you cry thread, I thought about getting a list together of movies that make you actually laugh out loud.

I watched Booksmart for the first time the other day and that had some good moments in. I would reccomend for a light giggle!

Cold Comfort Farm
Withnail and I

Aorh · 22/08/2021 06:12

Spinal Tap
Shaun of the Dead
Hot Fuzz
Mrs Doubtfire (I know, probably seen as transphobic, but I don’t fundamentally see it that way and there is something about the little old lady delivering Robin Williams quips that just kills me)

Definitely more Tv that does it fit me
Scrubs
Frazier
Ted Lasso

The humour in some of the Marvel films is brilliant, especially the Guardians of the Galaxy films and the Thor films 🤣

chocolateorangeinhaler · 22/08/2021 08:11

What's up doc (Barbra Streisand one)
Stepmom (Kathleen turner)
Airplane
Naked gun.

All harmless silliness.

Purplealienpuke · 22/08/2021 08:16

Four Lions is my go to film when I need a laugh.
Inside I'm Dancing has some laughs (and cries)
The Guard (Irish film 2011) was funny
I prefer black comedy
At the moment on tv there's a series (on series 2 now)
Why Women Kill. Im finding that amusing 😄

Straighttalking1 · 22/08/2021 08:47

Bad Trip

highlandteajenny · 22/08/2021 09:35

Big game (samuel L Jackson as the American president, kidnapped and flying through a Finnish forest in a freezer)
Zombieland 1&2
Hot Fuzz
American Pie 1-3
Mamma Mia
Gosford Park (for Maggie Smith's performance)

HeartvsBrain · 22/08/2021 10:52

There has only been one film, ever, in my 60 odd years of life, that I found really funny, and had me laughing out loud. At least one other person here mentioned it - Blazing Saddles, I first saw it at a cinema a very long time ago.

therarebear · 22/08/2021 11:28

Dirty Rotten Scoundrels.
Overboard.

therarebear · 22/08/2021 11:35

Forgot these:

The Sweetest Thing
National Lampoons Christmas Vacation
The Princess Bride

TV:
Rake
Schitt's Creek

OhWhyNot · 22/08/2021 11:51

This is Spinal Tap - finding the stage bit especially
When Harry Met Sally
Some Like it Hot
Coming to America
A fish called Wanda
Bridesmaids
The Ladykillers (original)

Haggisfish3 · 22/08/2021 11:58

Wayne’s world.

ThePersonFromPorlock · 22/08/2021 12:09

Oh God - The Ladykillers (the 1950s one) - forgot about that. Absolutely brilliant!

ThePersonFromPorlock · 22/08/2021 12:14

Oh, just remembered - The Rebel. Tony Hancock was fantastic. Such a clever film, not a single word wasted.

CustardyCreams · 22/08/2021 12:22

Le Diner de cons, it’s in French but the slapstick is great and even with subtitles it is very funny. There was a US remake, nowhere near as funny.

Roselilly36 · 22/08/2021 12:28
