Bit of TAAT but after reading the movies that make you cry thread, I thought about getting a list together of movies that make you actually laugh out loud.

I watched Booksmart for the first time the other day and that had some good moments in. I would reccomend for a light giggle!

Spy was funny too, Melissa Mccarthy is in it

OhFFSnevermind · 21/08/2021 23:57

Hot Fuzz
Shaun of the dead
White chicks
The Hangover
Kangaroo Jack
East is east
I find some kids animated movies hilarious like Storks, Angry Birds, Ferdinand and Madagascar.

Popsicle438 · 21/08/2021 23:57

Love and Death, Woody Allen.

Popsicle438 · 21/08/2021 23:58

Johnnie English, Rowan Atkinson.

BlankTimes · 22/08/2021 00:05

The Man With Two Brains, especially the scene where he stands looking out of the French doors, then he turns around.

Airplane - inflating the co-pilot and its facial expression afterwards.

All the Shaun the Sheep films and most Aardman animations.

Zoeyclash · 22/08/2021 00:06

Horrible Bosses - it's hilarious!

OwlinaTree · 22/08/2021 00:07

Loads on here I was reading thinking oh yes, forgot that one!

The South park movie
Elf
Zoolander - 'this school is tiny'
Bridesmaids
The scooby doo movie - I was laughing so much in the cinema, sends itself up brilliantly.
Spaceballs
Team America - fuck yeah!
Life of Brian

Also Snowpiercer, but I don't think I was supposed to be laughing Grin

OwlinaTree · 22/08/2021 00:07

Oh yes to the man with two brains!
And the three amigos!

aerosocks · 22/08/2021 00:09

The Full Monty
Paul
Blazing Saddles
Johnny English Strikes Again
Hot Fuzz

Simon Pegg & Nick Frost are doing quite well on this thread Smile

And like another pp - a couple of cartoons:
Madagascar
Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were Rabbit

Blindleadingtheblind · 22/08/2021 00:22

Just thought of another. The Room just because it is so cringey and bad it has it's own cult status

alwaysonadiet1 · 22/08/2021 00:23

Something about Mary

savagebaggagemaster · 22/08/2021 00:28

I love a lot of the films already mentioned (especially Airplane! which I can quote word for word), but one that really stood out for me was Take the Money and Run, a Woody Allen slapstick comedy.
For tv it can only be Frasier. Grin

lobster12 · 22/08/2021 00:30

Daddy's home 1 & 2 and I actually found the second one funnier!!

Airplane

Meet the parents and Meet the fockers. Not keen on little fockers

Most Will Ferrell films.

dottypencilcase · 22/08/2021 00:32

Really immature of me but White Chicks never fails to make me laugh!

dottypencilcase · 22/08/2021 00:35

And how can I forget MINDHORN 🤣🤣🤣🤣

WTF0ver · 22/08/2021 00:39

Death at a Funeral (the original version). I thought it was hilarious and after persuading my parents to watch it (they didn't like the sound of it from my initial description) they thought the same!

Fivefourthreetwo · 22/08/2021 00:42

California Suite.

Notimeforaname · 22/08/2021 00:45

Pineapple Express

Bowfinger

Con Air Grin

JaceLancs · 22/08/2021 00:46

Life of Brian

Graphista · 22/08/2021 01:07

Rarely does a movie make me actually laugh out loud

Agreeing with

Parenthood
deadpool (love Ryan Reynolds)
We're the millers (this one surprised me)
Some like it hot
The hangover (another surprise)
Liar liar (on paper I should hate it but it's a favourite)
Shaun of the dead
Hot fuzz
Muriels wedding
Gregory's girl (thought I'd be only one to mention that!)

Also

The whole nine yards
Ghost had some funny moments (and could be on both lists!)
Also jumpin Jack flash (another whoopi Goldberg)
Shallow grave (which prompted my ex to diagnose me as a sociopath Grin) to the pp who likes dark humour? Doesn't get much darker than this! Bloody hilarious though!
Love the pitch perfect movies - which I really didn't wanna see the 1st one dd wanted to go for her birthday! Then I loved it/them more than she did
Very few people I know have even SEEN this one and it's unavailable to stream but - a life less ordinary - love holly Hunter doing surreal comedy

And most recently - The hitmans Wife's Bodyguard. I really enjoyed this.

Yet to see this, loved the first one but I love Samuel l Jackson as well as Ryan so perfect for me

Con Air Grin

Oh definitely!

Graphista · 22/08/2021 01:19

Browsing a film to watch just now (yes I'm a night owl) and 2 others came to mind -

Knight and day
My cousin vinny - one of the funniest films I have ever seen and as you can see I'm hard to please (yes I know my list seems long but I am 49 and I've seen a LOT of films they honestly rarely make me laugh out loud, vinny makes me laugh throughout!)

Graphista · 22/08/2021 01:22

The proposal also ticks both laugh and cry boxes with the fabulous Betty white in it

user1471462634 · 22/08/2021 01:33

The Money Pit with Tom Hanks.

Baby's Day out - slapstick humour!

IncorrigibleTitmouse · 22/08/2021 01:39

Films:
It's Complicated (seen it so many times and it still cracks me up)
Step Brothers
Send Me No Flowers (an oldie, but another that gets me every time)

TV:
Friday Night Dinner
30 Rock
My Family

AtomicSquirrel3 · 22/08/2021 02:01
