To think that this isn’t comedy

I really do not find this funny and it is being funded by the Arts Council ie public monies. I’ve lost my sense of humour.

@DewDew83

Oh wow, I see people are actually complaining.

Per my (and another poster's) previous posts, this is basically the same plot as the Medicinal Fried Chicken episode of South Park, that first aired probably about 8 years ago and has been re-run plenty of times without any notable controversy.

If something can be a comedic plot on extremely popular tv show, I don't see why it can't also be in a play.

I'm not saying this at all. I'm saying at least be original if you're going to be crap.

My comment was not a response to you.

Although (1) how do you know it's crap? and (2) as an apparent South Park watcher, you've probably seen the s5 episode 'The Simpsons Already Did It', the concept of which is that there are very few (if any) truly original comedic plots.

The theatre has amended the details so that you can’t find out anything about this particular performer. I have complained to the Arts Council. It’s not funny in any sense however woke you may be. I don’t find it funny that young females want to cut off their healthy breasts either.

I agree, Feeling. This is sickening on so many levels.

Dont go see it then. I hate this trans bullshit but most of you seem think boycotts are brilliant when used for your purposes but 'censorship' when used against.

I bloody love going to see patronisng middle class productions about how they imagine outside of london or leeds to be like that one, Gasp0de. "Mam'. Now that is comedy.

I actually don't think anyone has suggested it be banned. They've just expressed their offence and, in some cases, complained to the Arts Council. Objection isn't censorship and nor is a refusal of funding.

As if some people are using South Park as a gotcha- a programme intended to be as offensive as they could get away with, and not funded by government funding, funnily enough. The plot line of that is also purposefully ridiculous, and shock, people could be offended by more than one thing; albeit as we are on about biological sex, not sure why it would be womens job to complain about it.

If the subject matter they wished to show was top surgery, there are so many options other than this, which at the root is a commentary about how they evidently feel women less deserving, or at least equally so of the surgery because of cancer than their me me me I want. What's annoying is that the criticism is being held up as anti-trans, when it's not, there are loads of different plots they could follow re top surgery, and the fact its a comedy somehow doesn't seem like a deep and meaningful commentary on the desperation some face.

Cos I'm not one of those people I always wait and see what something actually is before getting into a froth about it

Sounds pretty shit though, in précis
