AIBU to ask you to tell me if this fits?

DH has bought a new suit and we’re not sure if it fits! I felt that it looked a bit…baggy. But then I’m used to slim-fit suits so maybe this is just what they’re supposed to look like!

Thoughts below please :)

I think it’s a bit boxy across the front and doesn’t do him justice.

I feel like it’s not the right style for him and at £125 I would say that HAD it fit better you’d have gotten yourself a bargain!

Dh has loads of suits and it’s worth spending a little bit more if you can. He recommends Massimo Dutti, some French Connection (some!) and M and S ItalianCollection.

Looks good and fits. It's not slim fit which is maybe why you think it doesn't fit, but I think it looks good.

I think that if he's got a little extra on front, that could be contributing to it being looser on the back.

Nothing that can't be sorted out by an alteration tailor, though.

Otherwise, it looks pretty good - the overall style is great for balancing out his shape between shoulders and legs; it's definitely not got the 'missed Legs Day every day' look in trousers that has been fashionable for far too long. It's certainly better than Hugh Jackman in his Year 7 school blazer at the end of Year 11 photo.

Get it tailored

It’s ok, but not a great fit. If it’s an off the shelf suit for a wedding, it’s fine. By the time you’ve travelled there, and he’s sat down for the ceremony then had a few drinks nobody will notice or care. If he feels a bit self conscious you could always take it to a tailor and get a few alterations done. It’s not meant to be tight or slim fitting, it’s just a little bit loose in places. The trousers also don’t quite hang right.

Depends on his age - anywhere between 40 and 60 it's fine. Older, it's probably a bit too slim, and younger, it's probably not slim enough. Horses for courses.

I think it looks really nice and fits him really well. It's not a slim fit so it isn't tight. I really like it.

I'm going to be honest and say that the jacket's shoulders are too wide and the sleeves are too baggy.

Do the shoulder seams hit right on the end of the shoulder? If they're wider then it's too big. Looks fine to me.

That’s fine. Slim fits either scream salesman who’s going to lie through his teeth to get the sale, or someone desperately clinging to youth. They are also ‘hilarious’ to look at - especially if the person wearing them is tall and the viewer is short or sitting down. (🤢 not envy)

Lol my partner is 6ft and 10st. Some people have to wear slim fit

It looks good. It'd be nice to see a little shirt cuff underneath the jacket sleeve. And the bottom button should be left undone.
