Would you be upset if someone called you a jackboot?

Close family friend said the best way to describe me was jackbooted. I am upset and not sure how to tackle him, or whether to just let it go?

And I've never heard anyone say it in general conversation (unless about ww2)

I would definitely be very offended if someone called me 'a jackboot'. I'd interpret it as being a fascist, totalitarian, oppressive bully.

However, if someone told me I 'have my jackboots on' then I'd interpret it much as I did when MIL told me 'you're like my old school marm' when I was trying to chivvy her along and (kindly but firmly) not letting her make excuses or procrastinate.

I'm sorry you are struggling. I have said I will speak to him in the morning and I'll make sure we have a super party.

I'm glad to hear you've got over it and will continue to organise the party!

(The struggling comment was a play on my username btw Wink)
