to throw sheets & duvet cover away....

Does anyone have trouble getting period blood out of sheets. I've washed my daughter's sheets once at 60 with washing liquid stuff, and then again on a long cold wash with bleach. Hasn't made hardly any difference. Anyone any tips, Im tempted to throw them out but it seems wasteful! They're 100% cotton, but white - I know... have just bought her some dark coloured sheets 😜😏 I mean hotels must be able to get the stains out right

Make a paste with Vanish, apply to stain and hang on line in full sun -but probably works if applied and left for an hour x

Dr Breckham does a pack of 3 little pop out circular pads for various stains. Try that, followed by a generous amount of ace bleach ( Poundland or simlar) wash with oxi powder. Ace bleach is brilliant.

Wash again on 60 and hang out I. The sun on a hot day the stain will go in the sun

@postitgirl
Fairy up liquid but has to be the green original one thou scrub it right in to the stain.

Squirt some stain remover on them and wash on cold.

EarlGreywithLemon · 03/08/2021 21:56

Cold water and strangely whitening toothpaste worked for me! It was Arm & Hammer if I remember correctly, though I’m sure others would work too.

Greenmarmalade · 03/08/2021 21:59

Cold water and salt.

Period pants are a good investment for night time too, my teenagers are doing much better in them than pads.

Ladybirdbookworm · 03/08/2021 22:00

Spray them with kitchen cleaner with bleach. Such as flash with bleach etc…..
It works amazingly

Lilymossflower · 03/08/2021 22:02

Dye them a dark colour ? In the future wash with cold and air dry

GrouchyKiwi · 03/08/2021 22:03

Definitely agree about hanging them out in the sunshine.

And also about getting your DD some period pants for overnight. I use them now (with a pad) and no longer have to worry about leaking. It's such a relief to be able to sleep properly during my period (assuming the pain isn't too bad).

Mayhemmumma · 03/08/2021 22:03

Buy period pants - life changing as I'd always leak at night before.

MyDcAreMarvel · 03/08/2021 22:03

Always cold salt water first.

Gatekeeper · 03/08/2021 22:04

Biotex works every time for me

Wbeezer · 03/08/2021 22:05

I always use washing soda crystals for really stubborn stains

StoneofDestiny · 03/08/2021 22:06

Vanish - always does it. Soak the stained bits in a basin

buckeejit · 03/08/2021 22:13

For heavy bleeding, I really recommend the maxi reusable night pads from honour your flow-best ones I've tried.

Prior to using these, I'd bleed through everything, including the towels I was on. Looking forward to being done with periods!

MyShoelaceIsUndone · 03/08/2021 22:16

Try salt in with detergent

SamVimes6 · 03/08/2021 22:18

Hang them in direct sunlight. The sun will bleach them.

BashfulClam · 03/08/2021 22:19

Cold water, lots of salt and soap on the stain them scrub with a nail brush till it’s out then wash. It does come out from scrubbing. Get her some period pants for overnight wear.

TotoAnnihiliation · 03/08/2021 22:23

Get her to spit all over the stains first. Gross, I know but the saliva will break down the proteins in the blood, or some such thing. Honestly, it works.

hulahooper2 · 03/08/2021 22:29

Cold water and salt

bumblingbovine49 · 03/08/2021 22:37

You need to rinse it in cold water first and if possible use soap as well but only cold water . That should get most of it out . Washing it at 60.deg first has set the stain , blood won't come out if you use hot or warm water.

wordsareveryunnecessary · 03/08/2021 22:43

Bit late now but soak in cold water and salt when fresh stained.
You could try some Napisan

Bananas52 · 03/08/2021 22:58

I’m not sure if it will work on period blood, but Elbow Grease spray worked wonders on my baby’s poo explosions
