My dh had a shower before dinner today. I was dishing up dinner in the kitchen. Dh had a towel round his waist whilst going from the bathroom to the bedroom. Next things I know lots of laughter and giggling my 13 year old is running down the stairs laughing and said mum mum dad just said mum likes a good flash! Apparently the towel had fallen from his waist and dh said your mum likes a good flash! I was so embarrassed! My boys aged 13 and 15 thought it was hysterical!

It’s just a bit of banter

Notapheasantplucker · 03/08/2021 20:54

@Flipflopfoodle

Genuinely embarrassed? They must know you've seen their father's cock? Or did you tell them you just had sex twice with a sheet with a hole between you?

😂😂 Ffs

WimpoleHat · 03/08/2021 20:56

My DH would say similar; my kids would roll their eyes. No harm done. Just a silly, smutty joke.

Purplecatshopaholic · 03/08/2021 21:13

Am I missing something? Genuinely confused what the issue is here….

Hankunamatata · 03/08/2021 21:16

Yeah my boys would crack up (with laughter) at that. Nothing to be embarrassed about

@NotRainingToday

My DH sometimes cooks a family favourite meal, coq au vin. Every single time, he calls the kids down for dinner by saying "come and get your lips around my coq" They totally eye roll and don't take it as anything other than a crude and stupid joke. They are 19, 17 and 15 (but he's been saying it for years). I genuinely don't think that teenagers care about that stuff.
he sounds revolting. nothing remotely funny about it,
BrilliantBetty · 03/08/2021 21:21

Tbh this is the sort of thing my dad says. I found his jokes about sex / nudity / women really uncomfortable always but especially as a teen. Ignored him every time. Since they laughed and weren't uncomfortable it sounds fine? Don't worry OP

xprincessxjanetx · 03/08/2021 21:24

Wouldn't bother me - it's a joke

I wouldn't tell anyone this story IRL...
lljkk · 03/08/2021 21:36

That would provoke a cold hard "teacher stare" type reaction from me; perfectly fine if others laughed, too.

allycat4 · 03/08/2021 21:47

The coq au vin one is grim.

BrilliantBetty · 03/08/2021 22:12

A grown man says "come and get your lips around my coq" to his children and everyone just carries on as normal? WTF.

daisypond · 03/08/2021 22:24

The coq au vin one is definitely not acceptable. The OP’s DH one is fine.

Any good jokes when he cooks meatballs?
Summerfun54321 · 03/08/2021 23:12

We're a very 'comfortable' family and walk around in towels, share the bathroom, etc. My eldest said the other day "you love a good windmil, don't you mum?" and I agreed that DH doing the windmill does make me laugh!

😂 what have I just read!!??

longwayoff · 03/08/2021 23:19

Oh dear. Never look at your sons' phones OP, you may not recover.

HollowTalk · 03/08/2021 23:21

Yeah.

If this happened with your daughter, I would be very very concerned. If it's with your sons (imaginary or not) then I wouldn't worry.

Notimeforaname · 04/08/2021 00:06

I cant stop laughing. The cocks, the windmills. 🤣Going down to make a cuppa because I'll wake him up

therocinante · 04/08/2021 00:12

That'd have made me laugh, to be honest.

If I'm being po-faced and serious about it, at worst, your children are now aware you have at least a passing sexual interest in their dad (which, given their existence, I reckon they've probably clocked) and that there's humour and attraction in your relationship. Which is a nice, healthy thing for them to know.

If he'd said "Ooh the woman across the road loves a good flash" and waved himself at her through the landing window it'd have been very inappropriate. A 15-certificate-level silly joke in response to his towel falling down, in the house, about his wife? Nah, I think you're good Smile

HollyStripes · 04/08/2021 00:34

The ops one was fine but the coq au van one was so inappropriate. I think it's the graphicness towards the children that makes it uneasy. I can't help but laugh at the poster, coming on all jovial and writing that down thinking it's a cute family anecdote Confused

MinnieJackson · 04/08/2021 01:09

Biscuit my first! Why are you worried?

Mockolate · 04/08/2021 02:01

OP's, I think I'd roll my eyes and tell DH to shut up.
This one though

Saying it for years, when the youngest is 15?
So how young then
Yeah seems not the same and seems a bit eeww

@Summerfun54321 Grin same whut I have two teenage sons and they have never mentioned windmilling to me, WTAF lol Where would they even get that idea from, if they said that to me they'd probably be met with an WTF face lol

What????
ChittyChittyBangBangChicken · 04/08/2021 02:58

My family is definitely not a "walk around in the nude" type of family. In fact, I'm a bit of a prude, really, and even I think this seems harmless. It sounds like it was a genuine mistake, and his remark was obviously a joke. The children took it as such, so unless your husband makes a habit of "flashing" the children or is needlessly careless about keeping himself covered, I don't think there's a problem here.
