AIBU?

To think this is a inappropriate and embarrassing thing to say?

My dh had a shower before dinner today. I was dishing up dinner in the kitchen. Dh had a towel round his waist whilst going from the bathroom to the bedroom. Next things I know lots of laughter and giggling my 13 year old is running down the stairs laughing and said mum mum dad just said mum likes a good flash! Apparently the towel had fallen from his waist and dh said your mum likes a good flash! I was so embarrassed! My boys aged 13 and 15 thought it was hysterical!

It's male banter. I don't know how I'd feel, but I wouldn't have said similar to my Dad's if my towel slipped. I know my girls wouldn't have ran to their Dad and repeated it, if I did.

@Flipflopfoodle

Genuinely embarrassed? They must know you've seen their father's cock? Or did you tell them you just had sex twice with a sheet with a hole between you?

🤣 🤣 🤣

Typical MAN joke. Wink

Bad joke, a bit daft, but nothing to worry about!

Why were you embarrassed? What is embarrassing about it?

I can think that the only reason you have reacted so strongly is because you DO like a good flash and he has outed you Hmm

Ah my daughter has seen her dads willy before - it’s no big deal but we are quite a relaxed family with nudity. Tbh it’s my husband who now gets uncomfortable. He made a joke.

Tell them you saw all you wanted to see while changing their diapers and then ignore it.

Something your kids will cringe/laugh about for years.

Lighten up.

My DH sometimes cooks a family favourite meal, coq au vin. Every single time, he calls the kids down for dinner by saying "come and get your lips around my coq"
They totally eye roll and don't take it as anything other than a crude and stupid joke. They are 19, 17 and 15 (but he's been saying it for years).
I genuinely don't think that teenagers care about that stuff.

Exactly the sort of stupid joke my dad would make in that situation, don’t really see the problem! It’s not like he drew them a sketch of your favourite position

No it isn't. Yabu. Your dh sounds funny.

I hate to be this poster. But essentially he joked about a sexual offence. Flashing. To boys who are of an age when unsolicited dick pics start to be an issue for girls.

It's more important to teach your boys about consent than 'banter' (god help us) at this age.

Teenage girls suffer a barrage of unsolicited sexual content. And it comes from somewhere. Grown men joking about women liking it isn't going to help, is it?

I also wonder if you’re usually this prudish and uptight or if something else is going on?

😂 😂 😂

We're a very 'comfortable' family and walk around in towels, share the bathroom, etc. My eldest said the other day "you love a good windmil, don't you mum?" and I agreed that DH doing the windmill does make me laugh! 😁
