To beg for help to contact dvla

I applied for my daughters provisional driving licence on 5th May. Payment taken. Lost the bloody application number since. I've tried to phone 100s of times but it is impossible to get through. License has not arrived despite paying for it. It shouldn't have taken anymore than 10 weeks maximum. I applied for my photo updating on mine and it took less than a week.
I've tried emailing and get a generic response and links that I can't access without the reference number. I've tried to verify it another way and it says details are wrong when they definitely aren't.
I've messaged via messenger and same as above applies. I honestly don't know what else I can do. Help!!

I only had mine back this week after sending the application in February! It has a mistake on it and I managed to get through on the phone in 5 minutes after re-dialing about 10 times.
They can't 'discuss' application statuses with you but they can tell you if they have one on file for you which I checked a few months in to my wait!

I lost my driving licence and had to apply for a new one due to change of name I was having difficulties ordering online and it was saying my passport number was unrecognised and they couldn’t find me in their system. I have sent off an application for a new one with marriage certificate ect on recorded delivery that was 2 months ago and still nothing. I can’t get through on the phone either.

There is a link online that shows you when they are processing applications from if you google. From recollection it sounds a bit late, I think they were already doing May.

The only thing I can suggest is wait 2-3 weeks more then write to your MP.

I'm waiting for mine which was sent on 26th May. The whole system is awful at the moment because of Covid, strikes and backlog, and it doesn't help you cannot talk to ANYONE.

I have friends who had terrible problems with passport renewals too - I think it all gets processed by the same place. Go mad on social media, contact watchdog, make a massive noise. It's the only way you'll get anywhere.

It really does seem to be paper based applications causing the problem, DS’s came in less than 3 days last week, DH’s came in 4 days this week

DD’s online paperwork came in 5 days and is going back this week as she has no passport, it will be just her luck to take months after the others were so quick

Next is passport applications 😞

Everyone I know had online who had problems so I think it's just luck of the draw !!

The application number won’t necessarily help I’m afraid. Dd applied beginning of May. Additional documents were requested which we sent straight away. The online facility says documents not processed. I phoned and no humans available “due to covid” so I was put through to the Bot. Bot decided I needed to speak to a human so tried to put me through. No humans available so I was unceremoniously cut off. I might have said a rude word or two!

Why on earth did you delete the email?
