Am so pleased to see that the Brighton cat killer has been jailed for five years.

www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-9843607/Brighton-cat-killer-jailed-five-years-ex-Navy-gunner-guilty-killing-nine-cats.html

I know not everyone likes cats, but I don’t think IBU to think that you don’t go killing or maiming them. Feel so sorry for the owners who lost their cats or had to deal with horrific injuries.

Fucking bastard. Should stick him in a room with the owners. I love cats. They are adorable.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 30/07/2021 15:10

I don’t agree with the sentence. It should have been a lot longer. Imagine if he had killed and injured that many humans. We’d be rightly expecting him to be serving life with out parole. Why is he only getting 5 years AKA 2.5 years because he look cats lives. I just adore animals it’s completely beyond my comprehension how anyone could look at them and want to hurt them.
They’re trust and vulnerability just makes you want to protect them, surely.

1forAll74 · 30/07/2021 15:24

I read earlier, that he will only serve about half that sentence time. I have three cats, so I would chop his hands off !

My mother cat here, had four kittens 11 years ago, I kept two male kittens, ginger and white and looked like twins,, my daughter in Southampton had a darker coloured kitten, and a woman in the next village took the biggest kitten, who was a big fluffy all ginger one.

I saw the woman a couple of years later. asked her how the big fluffy cat was going on, and she said unbeknown to her at the time, she had a cat hating oldish man as a neighbour, and he poisoned her cat in his garden. She found some evidence of this.

TheNestedIf · 30/07/2021 15:27

Good. Sincerely hope he endures a long, strung out, painful decline, finally pegging out the very day before his release.

I hate people who are cruel to animals.

MrsTerryPratchett · 30/07/2021 15:27

I don't particularly like cats. But maiming and killing animals shows a level of cruelty and a lack of empathy that is extremely disturbing.

I hope he gets the treatment he needs in prison because this kind of thing after escalates to hurting people.

KittenKong · 30/07/2021 15:29

That’s what I was thinking. Once the thrill wears off of killing cats, then what? What an absolute crank.

thinkingaboutLangCleg · 30/07/2021 15:33

I hope he meets plenty of animal lovers during his stay.

Bumblenums1234 · 30/07/2021 15:40

If this man doesn't murder a humam when he gets out of prison I will be very shocked.

They should just get rid of scum like this, it will only escalate.

NotTheFunKindOfFeminist · 30/07/2021 15:45

He deserves life. Angry

Zelvinka · 30/07/2021 15:55

Glad he has been jailed.

TirisfalPumpkin · 30/07/2021 15:57

Yeah, I can read about humans killing each other - sad but routine - but this hits viscerally. Makes me want to run home to cuddle my cat. They don’t do guile or dishonesty. They’re better than people. Genuinely cannot understand the mindset of someone who would willingly hurt a cat. That is one f’d up psyche.

WeAllHaveWings · 30/07/2021 16:06

Personally not keen on cats, but even less keen on animal cruelty.

Hopefully he'll get put in prison with a lot of cat lovers and his thyroid cancer (the article says it has spread to his liver and lungs) debilitates him enough there is no risk he comes out even more warped and moves onto attacking people.

Illogicalmadness · 30/07/2021 16:07

He definitely would have gone onto humans if he wasn't caught. He needs a proper psychiatric evaluation before he is released. He could still be a danger to the public if he doesn't receive therapy in prison. He's a serial killer in training and in waiting especially because he's ex military. He knows exactly what he's doing and how to cause maximum damage.

ThickAndTired · 30/07/2021 16:14

@VanillaIce1

Is this the man who was killing cats all over that the police lied and said it was foxes I hope it is. I had the sad chance of finding two of the cats he done and I won't go into it as it's so sad but no it wasn't foxes unless carried sharp knives.
No, this is the Brighton Cat Killer.

The Croydon Cat Killer that became the UK Cat Killer is still travelling about and killing pets, including rabbits and foxes if they are about. That is the one the Police decided didn't exist because they were unable to catch him and didn't want to be seen to fail. 3 cats were killed near me recently in spite of the man not existing.

Ghislainedefeligonde · 30/07/2021 16:15

Yes I agree he would be high risk for moving onto other targets in future most likely women. He’s totally sick in the head Angry

ThickAndTired · 30/07/2021 16:18

@Leftbutcameback

It hadn’t occurred to me it might be the same person as Croydon, but I hope that’s the case. What an awful sick person. Glad he got a relatively long sentence.
It isn't, unless he has been free during the last few months? It is still happening, just not publicised because it has been brushed under the carpet. As I posted above, it has happened near me, recently.

Keep your pets safe, the UK Cat Killer is still operating.

gluteustothemaximus · 30/07/2021 16:18

He'll be out in 2.

No doubt practising for attacking humans.

Can only hope there's cat lovers in prison?

5togo · 30/07/2021 16:39

According to the cctv clips, he did it very quickly and surreptitiously, in seconds.

I'd love an hour in a room with him tied to a chair.

KittenKong · 30/07/2021 16:56

Him in a room. Dipped in marmite with 1000 cats.

I just can’t think what goes through someone’s head... he couldn’t even be bothered to think of an ‘excuse’ (going through a rough patch, change of medication, recently lost his granny, scratched by a cat as a baby...)

TheLovelinessOfDemons · 30/07/2021 16:57

5 years doesn't seem anywhere near enough. Someone who does that has a sick mind.

SupermanWithTheGreyHair · 30/07/2021 17:04

5 years doesn't seem anywhere near enough.

I agree, but fingers crossed the cancer get him before he’s out. And I’m sure the other prisoners will ensure he has a lovely time in there as well.Wink

baldafrique · 30/07/2021 17:08
