still sorting out dd's birthday presents and we have one of the big toys@r@us bags full of sweets, i have no problem with the dd'd eating sweets every so often but this would take a few years to get through.

what can i do with them? i dont want to hand some into school because there will be parents who complain if their children were given a bit of chocolate/lolly etc.

do you think a christmas fair would accept them to sell on a stall or is there some weird health and safety rule about this now.

Our school's christmas fair certainly has a sweet tombola - some schools do have a blanket ban on all sweets anywhere but it's worth asking.

unknownrebelbang · 26/11/2007 18:04

I'd accept them for our Christmas Fair.

I'd accept them for me, lol.

MaureenMLovesmincepies · 26/11/2007 18:28

If not acceptable at school, I'd put them in the cupboard for next Halloween!

kerryk · 26/11/2007 18:54

Indith · 26/11/2007 19:09

Keep them to give to carol singers

SecondhandRose · 26/11/2007 19:11

We'd love em for our school Christmas Fayre.

BoysAreLikeReindeer · 26/11/2007 19:26

Yut 'em

pukkapatch · 26/11/2007 19:28

my kids school will accept all sort of utter crap. in fact the more e factors and artificial colourings in it the better. but let them get a whiff of a healthy, nutritious nut, and they go ape shit. ballistic, nuclear.....
so if your dd's school doesnt want it, then hand it over tomy kids. they will love youforever, and probly have a kerryk sports hall in your name.

lulalullabye · 26/11/2007 19:29

What about taking them to your local A&E dept. The staff there work bloody hard, and will love you for life !! and if remembered you might get preferential treatment !

Greensleeves · 26/11/2007 19:30

Um, is this a trick question?

mintydixcharrington · 26/11/2007 19:34

I'd chuck em in the bin I'm afraid

Unless I happened to be going to a hospital or something and they were unopened, then I'd give them to the nurses in the paed ward

brimfull · 26/11/2007 19:36

the school parents might not appreciate them but i'm sure the staffroom would be pleased

moondog · 26/11/2007 19:36

I give all crap offerings to the wildlife (and then worry about poisoning squirrels and glueing tiny robins' mouths shut.)

kerryk · 26/11/2007 19:50

i love the idea of having a sports hall named after me

believe me my willpower would not be as good if they were decent sweets but the local supermarket had they horrible drumstick lollies on offer last week so she has about 4 bags of them, she also has 2x 6 packs of marsbars

OP posts:
filthymindedvixen · 26/11/2007 19:52

Look, I'll happily take them off your hands...

smeeinachristmastreeinnit · 26/11/2007 19:53

send them to me kerryk, i'll wrap them in bags and sell them at my NSPCC charity event in december! all donations very welcome!

Flibbertyjibbet · 26/11/2007 20:07

horrible drumstick lollies Kerryk????? Those drumstick lollies are my fave of all time. Oh the fillings I have lost to those... send them to meeeeeeeeeee

littlerach · 26/11/2007 20:09

I threw out a load of halloween sweets that dds had. They haven't noticed

But if it is chocolate then that's another story!

SantasLittleToiletFlusher · 26/11/2007 20:16

You can't throw Marsbars away!! Thats a criminal offence isn't it!! You must have some self-control....I'd have eaten them all by now.

IsawKIMIkissingSantaClaus · 26/11/2007 20:18

In answer to the question of what would you do with a carrier bag full of sweets.... I would eat them and end up in a diabetic coma

random · 26/11/2007 20:24

I'd happily take the mars bars off your hands
