I don’t need to go to the hospital for this surely.

So I got my 2nd vaccine 2 weeks ago and a day later started with pain in my right shoulder. The opposite arm to where I got jabbed. Didn’t think anything of it but over the 2 weeks the pain is horrendous and is going into the side of my neck and the back of it. I’m also getting constant headaches and feeling sick.

I rang 111 and advised I haven’t slept funny on it, I have whacked it but I’m getting to the point I can’t lie on that side due to the pain or carry anything. 111 have said to go to a&e but I don’t think I need it. Wouldn’t get a doctor to ring me or see just said go to a&e.

Anyone know what it could be. Feel like I’m wasting a space for someone else in hospital.

Better to go now than tonight with the drunks who’ve done daft things. Good luck, hope you get to the bottom of it quickly as you sound absolutely miserable Flowers

A woman I know had pain in her left shoulder from clots in her lungs. She had to have blood thinning injections so better to get it checked.

She had the AZ vaccine but had previously had Covid so I don't know if she ever found out what had caused it. No idea what arm she got jabbed in but it does sound like it's better to get it checked out. She said he nearly didn't bother going because she felt like it was making a fuss over nothing.

Mine was the az vaccine. That’s why I’m worrying. Sat in the waiting room now waiting for triage. My hospitals busy already

I'm sure it's a lot cheaper for the NHS to check over 10 people with symptoms that turn out to be non-serious than to deal with the person who ignored everything until they needed an ambulance

PerciphonePuma · 16/07/2021 19:35

Let us know how you get on, OP

Bagelsandbrie · 16/07/2021 19:41

Could be a blood clot in the lung or heart issues - both can present as that sort of pain. And they’re easily ruled out so get yourself to a and E!

Milkteefs · 16/07/2021 19:58

Hope you're okay, OP. You've done the right thing going in x

GlutenFreeGingerCake · 16/07/2021 20:05

Good luck OP my GP sent me to A&E recently for something unrelated to Covid but I felt like it wasn't as serious as the GP said but I ended up having an emergency operation so it's best to get seen if advised to.

CharlotteRose90 · 17/07/2021 00:39

Been here 5 hours and counting now. Seen triage and had bloods so I’m guessing I’m waiting for a doctor. Estimated waiting times are 6 hours.

MyGrassIsBrowner · 17/07/2021 00:55

Good luck OP, hope you're not waiting too long. X

seepingweeping · 17/07/2021 01:11

Hope you don't have too much longer to wait

boomwhacker · 17/07/2021 01:17

Hope you get some answers OP

Justilou1 · 17/07/2021 01:29

Yes you do. Immediately. You had AZ vaccine and headaches and nausea are signs of clotting. Go now. Call an ambulance.

CutePanda · 17/07/2021 01:30

@Ginmakesitallok

Just go. Unlikely to be vaccine related
Headaches and blood clots are side effects of the Covid vaccines. People don’t always feel the side effects straightaway. If people are developing side effects then they need to see a doctor.
Justilou1 · 17/07/2021 01:30

Sorry. I just saw that you were there. I hope that you have been treated and you’re feeling okay.

FlyingBattie · 17/07/2021 01:32

Just feel guilty and like I’m taking someone’s place

A+E doesn't have "places" for people; you are seen in order of priority and you being there doesn't deprive anyone else of seeing a doctor. (and the NHS being underfunded is not your problem to solve, so don't worry about that)

FlyingBattie · 17/07/2021 01:33

Hopefully. you are home by now OP!

NaturalStudy · 17/07/2021 01:38

Have you been given some pain relief OP? Hopefully you have a diagnosis soon.

chaosmaker · 17/07/2021 02:16

As they are doing tests and taken bloods then there was obviously something that needed checking out. Glad you went and hope you feel better soon. Flowers

CharlotteRose90 · 17/07/2021 02:52

Still here sadly, 9 hour wait currently. This is why i didn’t want to come. No pain relief either as the doctor has to write it up for me :(.

Nameswaptime · 17/07/2021 03:19

That’s a long wait!

Mypathtriedtokillme · 17/07/2021 03:41

Where I am it’s recommended you see your GP or A&E for any headaches (even mild), Leg pain or stomach pain with in 2 weeks post AZ vaccination due to the increased but rare blood clotting risk.

Hope your feeling ok even with such a long wait.

drspouse · 17/07/2021 03:53

Gosh, good luck OP. That's a horrendous wait.

Crockof · 17/07/2021 04:00

Hope you are ok

unwuthering · 17/07/2021 04:08

Better safe than sorry. Good luck with it all.
