OK, not in person, but I'm bloody loving 'Clarkson's Farm on Amazon Grin and look forward to an episode per night. I know he's a bit of a prick, but the programme is really watchable and I'll be sad when there's no more episodes.

What is getting you through?

Loved that series. Is there going to be a series two or not? I thought there was.

Beetlebrooker · 14/07/2021 22:15

I'm not fond of JC especially, but I absolutely LOVED this series. Was sad when it was over - he's still a bit of a cock but this shows a better side of him.

I wept with mirth at Gerald many times, and Kaleb telling Clarkson repeatedly that he was an idiot was endearing.

I'll never look at tram lines the same way again.

TreadSoftlyOnMyDreams · 14/07/2021 22:15

Bloody loving it, it's hilarious. Caleb is a total gem.

Extra bonus is learning a lot about the reality of modern farming with an unvarnished JC tongue. It's eye-opening and makes me so very cross that Boris and Co are making life harder not easier

WeAllLikeVindaloo · 14/07/2021 22:28

The “no series two” were just assumptions, clarkson said Amazon hadn’t decided yet.

Someone has also mentioned the filming of series 2 on his farm Facebook page, they visited 6 days ago so fingers crossed it continues!

EwwSprouts · 14/07/2021 22:33

We're only up to episode 3 but the teen will sit and watch it with us which means it has something about it.

Whoopsmahoot · 14/07/2021 22:39

Disappointing if there’s no series 2 - not my favourite guy on tv but thoroughly enjoyed the series

Kerberos · 14/07/2021 22:44

I don't know if I'd like a 2nd series. I loved it. Particularly liked that he got experts in, and mostly listened to them. There were some stupid bits but overall loved it

The lad Kaleb though. At his age, his knowledge and skills were jawdropping. As was his hair Grin

AdobeWanKenobi · 14/07/2021 22:58

Re series 2. The show is made by Clarksons own production company and then sold to Amazon I believe. From bits I’d seen online they are filming (as confirmed by people who have visited the farm shop) so it just remains to be seen if Amazon pick it up again.

As for a nine year old watching it, language aside I think it should be compulsory as a way to educate our kids on the rather terrifying future of farming.

daffodil10 · 14/07/2021 22:59

As a farmers wife Clarkson ( who I previously hated) has done more for British agriculture in this programme than countryfile or spring watch etc ever have.
Absolutely brilliant true to life yet very watchable.

Dee1975 · 14/07/2021 23:14

We just finished the series tonight! Absolutely loved it. Not only was it really entertaining, but really opened my eyes to the difficulties of farming. It’s changed my outlook and increased my understanding.
Really hope we get a series 2 and an edited series one as I think it would be brilliant for children.

sheepysheep · 14/07/2021 23:15

We are sheep farmers (I also have a “proper” job which pays the bills and allows us to continue to farm!). We’ve really enjoyed it. We let our lads watch it but they are pretty well educated in “words you don’t say at school” so we weren’t too worried about the swearing. I wasn’t really a clarkson fan before but I enjoyed him on this as he did seem quite genuine. We swerved the farm shop episode though - I was a bit worried the staged calamities in front of the general public would tip the cringe scales too far and have me hiding behind a cushion!!

It’s nice to know that people are able to see a more accurate portrayal of British agriculture than Country File (or as us peasants call it, Cunty File).

LadyCatStark · 14/07/2021 23:15

I just loved it! I’m glad to hear that actual farmers thought it was true to life (although not glad it’s so tough for them).

CaptainThe95thRifles · 14/07/2021 23:25

I thought it was great, but I like Clarkson generally. He's a knob, but he's bloody good at what he does.

TheFnozwhowasmirage · 14/07/2021 23:37

daffodil10 I agree entirely. We are sheep farmers and loved every minute of it. DH is not a farmer, but was so interested that he started asking questions. Dd2 never watched TV,but enjoyed every episode. It has shown the realities of farming far better than C**file, which is s swearword in our family. I really hope that there's a second series.

VeniVidiWeeWee · 14/07/2021 23:40

Why is Mr Clarkson a knob, or the perjorative of your choice, simply because he may hold opinions that differ from your own?

HerRoyalNotness · 14/07/2021 23:40

Yes I loved it!

Blogdog · 14/07/2021 23:42

Really enjoyed this, and I didn’t expect to.

To the person asking is it suitable for a 9 year old - well there is one episode with rather a lot of sheep lovemaking, which my own 9 year old was a bit too fascinated with - but apart from that…

Killerqueen2244 · 14/07/2021 23:43

As far as I know* series 2 is in talks for filming later in the year, I reckon it’s all publicity!! Amazon (and Clarkson!) are absolutely raking it in, id be shocked if they decided not to continue!!

*I know people involved with series 1 Grin

GrumpyMiddleAgedWoman · 14/07/2021 23:46

I'm a bit of a yokel (have done farm work in my time), and thought it was fab. Educational but also bloody funny. 100% concur with Kaleb's view of London ('too many people').

MareofBeasttown · 14/07/2021 23:48

Loving it! And the best bit is: I have absolutely no FOMO. I have zero envy or desire to live on his farm, given how tough he makes it sound.

Of course all the calamities are staged. I don't think even Jeremy would go off and buy sheep without consulting his land agent.

ConsuelaHammock · 14/07/2021 23:55

We are farmers, as are many of both mine and husband’s family and friends. We loved this show. My 78 year old still farming full time dad is throughly enjoying it too.
My 12 year old son is a huge Clarkson fan and he watched it first and was raving about it. Then he watched it again with the whole family. It’s one of those shows where you say “ just another episode” !

ConsuelaHammock · 14/07/2021 23:59

Kaleb is a born star. He’s so knowledgeable and only 21/22?? He is the kind of young man who should be admired by the younger generation. He’s making a valuable contribution to society.

ConsuelaHammock · 15/07/2021 00:05

Why do people not like JC? I think he’s fab. His girlfriend is lovely too.

SirSamuelVimes · 15/07/2021 00:09

Clarkson is an incredibly good presenter. I love watching him, I really do. But he is also a bit of a twat - he was fired from the BBC because he punched a subordinate in the face while at work filming Top Gear.

I am happy enough to hold the two opinions together. I thinks he's brilliant at his job and I enjoy watching the programmes he makes. I also think he's a bit of a twat.

DdraigGoch · 15/07/2021 00:45

You can't stage a ewe rejecting a lamb, or the failure of an entire crop. That was real.
