AIBU to call our new puppy Socks?

I am getting a new puppy after a long break without a dog and my children have said they don’t like the name I had chosen for her - Socks. My other half joked about her socks (she has cute little white paws) when we first met her and for me it just stuck. My older son said it’s a cat name and you can’t call her that. My older daughter and younger son are now agreeing with him!

I think it’s up to me what I call my dog - neither of the older two live at home now and I will be the one with full responsibility for the dog.

Is it such a bad name for a dog?

I do like boots but know another dog called that. It’s mixed isn’t it. I posted because I was quite upset last night about it all - more the point that it isn’t up to them - it’s my choice at the end of the day. However here is another photo or two just to help!!
