As title says. I have never had a really good, phone, I usually have a hand-me-down from one of the DC's or a cheapo samsung.

I want to save up for a decent phone (don't want one off a contract) and I am not sure what type to go for, so thought I would be nosy and ask MN :D

IPhone 12 max because I like a big phone and I have an iPad so goes seamlessly together. Also feel security is better on Apple but that is probably just me.

iPhone 10X

CorianderBee · 10/07/2021 01:06

My husband got me it for £200 though as he works for Apple

I’m clinging onto an IPhone 7 Plus that I’ve had for about 5 years now. It’s in good condition although the battery is starting to suffer from its age now I think.

I used to be desperate to upgrade my phone as soon as my contact ended but I’ve completed grown out of that and can’t imagine going back to paying £40/50+ per month just for a couple of phones.

I will need to upgrade soon but maybe not go for the most recent model when I do.

SantaMonicaPier · 10/07/2021 06:54

I will add, consider size. I bought a huge one thinking it would be good for commutes (then, lockdown...) and it wouldn't even fit in a pocket hence my going small. The iPhone 11 Pro was my second choice as the size looks perfect and it has an amazing camera.

Question - the new SE or 12 mini what kinda chargers?

lap90 · 10/07/2021 17:16

Iphone 7 plus... which is a little old now i guess as far as iphones are concerned... although still does the job!

ThatWayNoItsThatWay · 10/07/2021 17:43

Work a Google Pixel 5 (but we have strict usage/controls), and personal a 3 year old iPhone, I don't follow the numbers.

Lolwhat · 10/07/2021 17:51

iPhone SE 2020, don’t like it as much as I did my iPhone 7+

mb05 · 10/07/2021 18:05

Thanks everyone! I am going to have a look into the google pixel phones, as don't know much about those, I do prefer android to iPhone if I am honest, but stuck with an iPhone for now until I can get a shiny new phone (an actual decent one!!)

Also look at the Moto G7 and G8 series, I'm surprised they've been barely mentioned on this thread.

I've got a 2 year old G7, after seeing them recommended on here a lot and it's great and showing no signs of slowing down or battery issues and they're only £150-250.

EatingAllThePies · 10/07/2021 18:17

Samsung A something. Upgraded about 4 years ago from the J range to get the metal casing. I've had a variety through work and husband etc and this is what I'll be sticking to. Husband had the upgraded J and still loves it. My battery is just starting to fail so I'm looking for a similar model to replace.

iPhone 11pro

Really like it especially the camera.

I have lots of apple products so will probably stay brand loyal. Tend to buy an expensive handset outright with lots of memory every 3-4 years (my last one was a 6S) and keep it until it dies/ operating system gets too slow.

I have a cheap three sim only deal.
