and you're not moaning now then? Don't forget all those people in the world who are far worse off than you! No harm in a moan about trivia once in a while.

Lazarou · 23/11/2007 22:26

Details...

southeastastra · 23/11/2007 22:27

i couldn't even imagine eating my own head

handlemecarefully · 23/11/2007 22:27

YABU.

Never ever complain unless you are in a persistent vegetative state, with a terminal illness, not enough to eat and with no roof over your head

Que?

There is always somebody worse off than you. And your point is?

AMAZINWOMAN · 23/11/2007 22:27

yes, and people who moan about stuff when they are very lucky! someone i know moans about not having any money, but goes away for weekends all the time, has £200 budget per month just for saving, always buying clothes, but moans about the fact her car isnt brand new!

it is so annoying! but when i say you're lucky, i come across as being a cow!

Twiglett · 23/11/2007 22:30

everybody deserves to moan

doesn't matter if it looks like they have everything you have ever desired, behind closed doors NOBODY has a perfect life .. Nobody

and there is always someone worse off than you ... always

you're being totally unreasonable .. go and eat your head

Sushipaws · 23/11/2007 22:30

Whoops, and there's me having a petty moan in another thread.

I'm extremely grateful for what I have and for being born into such an affluent society, but I think that every now and then I'm entitled to a whinge.

However if people keep going on and on and have the "Oh Poor Me" attitude, then I can imagine loosing the rag with them.

southeastastra · 23/11/2007 22:31

still trying to picture eating my own head. it's not nice

EricL · 23/11/2007 22:33

Eating head?

have i missed the juicy bits?

Lazarou · 23/11/2007 22:36

Which bit would you eat first?

Sushipaws · 23/11/2007 22:36

It would have to be the top lip.

southeastastra · 23/11/2007 22:37

you couldn't physically do it

Lazarou · 23/11/2007 22:37

I was thinking bottom lip first

Lazarou · 23/11/2007 22:38

How about at hte same time with your tongue in the middle. A tongue sandwhich!

Twiglett · 23/11/2007 22:38

nope ... ears first, then nose surely ..

Ellbell · 23/11/2007 22:39

You could if you chopped it off, liquidised it and poured it straight down the oesophagus, but not sure how practical that would be.

In response to the OP. Sometimes we all need a moan. Just because I moan about having a cold and a sore throat tonight doesn't mean that I don't realise that in the scheme of things I am very lucky and could be far worse off... but I still have a sore throat, and I intend to make sure dh hears about it!

southeastastra · 23/11/2007 22:41

yes you would have to start with the extremeties

Lazarou · 23/11/2007 22:43

What sort of knife would you use to detach them first?

Am aware am sounding a bit scary now.

michellexmx · 23/11/2007 22:44

Grrrrrrr...

Had to get it out...i do however feel so much better knowing i'm not on my own.
I work in a secondary school and there is a 15 yr old lad there who has just lost his mum.He has two younger siblings there and as a result of his mothers death, his dad has turned to the bottle. The young lad is now having to look after the family...cooking, cleaning, making sure the kids get to school and trying his best to stop his younger brother going into care.

HE'S 15 YRS OLD...Can you imagine? I found him after school today, sitting amongst trees crying asking me what he's got to live for now his mum's gone.... and asking me for the ingredients and recipe for shepherds pie as his broher and sister love it...Then,people around me are moaning about not having money to go out, how they are bored etc and it just angers me.

Eating your my own head may not be the best, or tastiest solution actually!!!

the cold realities of life are really hard to deal with.

there really isn't anything much that we can really do about it.

but we should care more for our elderly/families

expatinscotland · 23/11/2007 22:50

elderly are annoying, though.

people live too long nowadays .

Ellbell · 23/11/2007 22:53

Poor lad, mxm. When something like that happens it does, of course, make you realise how lucky you are. I had something similar three weeks ago at my work (would prefer not to give details, but very sad and shocking) and it really threw me in a big way.

It is important to have a sense of proportion, of course, but it's also natural to moan sometimes and perhaps not healthy to feel that you're 'not allowed' because someone else might be worse off. Mind you, moaning about being bored is my pet hate... Makes me want to say 'just bloody do something then'.

Ellbell · 23/11/2007 22:54

Or even xmx... sorry!

michellexmx · 23/11/2007 22:54

Life's cruel sometimes and we all get dealt a bad hand at some point, but some people need a damn good shake!!!!

Expat...
