Would you block her in?

I’m WFH and just taking my lunch so thought I’d also whip the bin out. As I do, a car crawls past and then reverses into our parking spot. (It’s our private spot and has our number sprayed in it as well as a sign saying ‘Private parking for number 30’) A woman gets out so I said “Excuse me, sorry you can’t park there” she looks and me and just wanders off up the street.

I mean, I get she might not have realised (although the sign is big and prominent) but to be told and then still walk off without moving - the cheek.

I was a bit taken aback if I’m honest so went back in the house and then I thought, no sod this and I went and knocked on the door of the house she went in, I waited a bit but no one answered!

I wouldn’t mind as such if someone was quickly dropping something off but she’s obviously stopping for a bit. The annoying thing too is the house she’s gone in has a driveway and there’s room for this visitor on it. So I’m a bit Confused to why she’s parked in our private bay.

Grrr, I can’t keep knocking as going back to work (WFH) in a bit, so would I be unreasonable to just block her in with my car? Blush I feel like I need to make a point Grin

This thread is a very exciting find on a rainy evening! Following with far more interest than is probably healthy.

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 05/07/2021 20:59

@Crankley

The whole thread is seriously pathetic, based on someone parking in an empty parking space that no-one was wanting to use at the time.
I do hope that you open your house to the homeless whenever you're away.

After all - why wouldn't you? They'd just be occupying an empty house that no one was wanting to use at the time, surely? Or is it just other people that have to be generous with their space? 🤨

Someone just knocked on the door!! DH was going to answer so I grabbed him and said 🤫 whilst trying not to laugh! We actually hid in the living room 😬 We looked through the window and it’s CF neighbours DH! 🤣 I imagine he’s knocked on nice neighbour and didn’t get a reply?! Why he knocked here I don’t know!! What have I done 🤭

No idea why he’s come over hours later. I’d like to think they’ve been arguing over who goes out in the rain and knocks (or maybe they have a life unlike us 😄)

AHobbyaweek · 05/07/2021 21:03

I bet they don't know who's car it is and only know that the CF parked in 30 earlier so go there to see if it was your doing!

awaywiththefae · 05/07/2021 21:03

I feel so bad 😆 (not really) I feel like I’ve lit a fire and wandered off! 🤣

I've been laughing myself silly at this. Thanks, @awaywiththefae!

IamnotSethRogan · 05/07/2021 21:05

Yes hiding was the best option.

I don't care what the miseries on here who clearly are CF parkers this thread is fucking brilliant. People act like complete tossers thinking they can do as they like and get a bit if their own medicine.

If he knocks again, maybe answer and say he parked there after his dickhead wife's mate parked in everyone elses space and was a cunt about it.

BumpyBoobs · 05/07/2021 21:06

Well done OP! I came home last week to find our CF neighbours friends had parked in one of our private spaces.
Theres history-CF neighbour has shit cars in various states of disrepair parked in any available places on street, he steals and sells diesel from comercial vehicles-last year he turned our drive into a garage.
So their arrogant pal parks in our drive again and i thought fuck it, I've tried nice. So I parked my car and blocked her in.
Neighbour asked me to move and her husband apologised and I moved the car. (Sadly before I could start a thread on it)
Point made.

NoNever · 05/07/2021 21:06

This is hilarious - are both cars still in the street?

EastWestWhosBest · 05/07/2021 21:08

I’m lost. Are either of your cars involved?

If not then watch and enjoy.

I feel bad for what I’ve essentially started and also find it hilarious 😆

You handled that brilliantly OP!

Illogicalmadness · 05/07/2021 21:13

I'd text my neighbour & tell her to climb I'm through the boot & move their car in the dead of night. Then call the police to report the cf neighbour's car for blocking the road.

princessandthedragon · 05/07/2021 21:15

Thank you . I needed this thread today 🤣

Yes both cars are still like in the diagram 😄

Nice neighbour has just left it there, CF DH still parked half in the road. Me and DH have a bet to who will move first, I say nice neighbour, he says CF DH.

This is a brilliant thread!! Thank you OP.

BlowDryRat · 05/07/2021 21:18

Wait til nice neighbour moves, then phone 111 to report an abandoned car blocking the road 😂

awaywiththefae · 05/07/2021 21:18

No, it’s moved on to a stand off now between my nice, slightly heroic, neighbour’s car and the CF neighbour’s DH’s car.

I’m slightly in a panic of what to do if CF DH knocks again 😬

This would be genius!
dapsnotplimsolls · 05/07/2021 21:21

Maybe someone else has complained about the car parked in the street 😀

SchadenfreudePersonified · 05/07/2021 21:23

Nothing you can do - not your car, so you can't move it.

Oh, dear. What a shame. Never mind. Wink

ejhhhhh · 05/07/2021 21:25

It's not your problem anymore OP. The whole fiasco is completely down the CF friend who parked in your spot first, then your nice neighbour's. You're not responsible for the fact that the CF chose to park in your neighbour's spot after you asked them to move, or what your nice neighbour did in response. If they know again, you don't need to worry, all you did was ask them to move, it's not your problem where they actually moved to. CFs deserve all they get.

ejhhhhh · 05/07/2021 21:26

And brilliant thread OP, and good on your nice neighbour!

lockdownbabyx · 05/07/2021 21:27

@awaywiththefae just read this whole thread and thoroughly enjoyed it 😂 thanks OP, I'd find it hilarious too haha

TourdeTarte · 05/07/2021 21:28

Answer the door if he knocks again!!!
