They were the better, much more energetic team but... It was a very poor decision.

As a Scot I’m pleased for Southgate as he has done great things since taking over the England team. However that was not a penalty. I’m not into football and don’t have huge knowledge of the game, but even I could see that wasn’t a penalty. But hey ho, that’s the game.

We have the benefit of the highest quality play backs from different positions.

Well done England, it's an achievement to get to the final, even if the trophy doesn't end up on English soil. I'm normally not interested in football, but it's a great morale booster and I'm pleased for the players and fans. Come on England!

I don’t think it was a penalty either but very pleased for England and Southgate. They did play better over all, although I realise that’s not how it’s decided!

I think the penalty was the same as any other pen given this tournament.
A bit weak, but they’re all being given at the moment.
I thought the earlier shout for a pen was more convincing!
Best team won though, we were all over them.

Fantastic start. I do hope England wins - they’re the strongest team I’ve ever seen, there’s no “stars” - it’s all real team work and the difference between them and previous England teams is stark. Regardless of the end result, the team and Southgate have done brilliantly
