So, after a crappy few years that includes dropping out of School, not finishing my A Levels, working Min Wage Jobs to survive, having a baby, health scares, diagnosed anxiety disorder and a mental breakdown, I have now applied to University!

My family don't seem particularly bothered so I just wanted to share my news here instead.

I submitted my application this morning and the decision is pending. I should hear back by the 6th July. I'm excited and scared!

Regardless of the degree or where it is, you'll do well because you have fought for it and obv love it. Crack on and keep succeeding!

Knockoneofftheshelftowin · 29/06/2021 18:14

Well done. That's fabulous.. the best of luck, not that you will need it.

There's a saying ' when preparation meets opportunity, that's luck'
You've got it.

Arbadacarba · 29/06/2021 18:18

Wishing you every success!

Atalune · 29/06/2021 18:19

Well bloody done!!

Verbena87 · 29/06/2021 18:25

Well done on applying.

Even bigger well done on applying for something you love and will relish digging deep into regardless of other people belittling the subject (my English teacher wanted me to apply for English at Oxford. I did an art degree instead and I have never had cause to regret it because I bloody loved it and I use the skills I learned every day.)

I’ve got a pregnancy test to see if fertility treatment has worked on the 6th, will be thinking of you and willing us both the best news. X

Moonshine5 · 29/06/2021 18:34

Well done you - any subject is worthy and if it's something you have a passion for you'll do brilliantly.

You should be so so proud of yourself Smile

SummerWhisper · 29/06/2021 19:33

Every degree subject has its merits and most universities consciously engage students in employability programmes such as work experience. If you engage with the extracurricular stuff, you will fly into a good job, no matter the subject.

SummerWhisper · 29/06/2021 19:34

Be sure to ask about it at your interview! Fingers crossed 🤞

numberthirtytwoWindsorGardens · 29/06/2021 19:35

custardbear · 29/06/2021 19:47

Good Luck!
Don't let anyone berate your course, there's plenty of people who use degrees from multiple areas as a leg up in other fields and those who do subjects like psychology where there's a whole wealth of careers you can go into - especially these days
