I probably only have 1-2 baths a month with DS (usually when I’ve made it deeper with lots of bubbles). He’s going to be 4 in a month and I feel like we’re coming to end of this chapter.

When did you stop?

I like a hot, quiet bath, never bathed with mine in last ten years!

Anoisagusaris · 23/06/2021 09:57

Never bathed or showered with my kids. My shower is one of the few moments of peace I get in a day!!

Kotatsu · 23/06/2021 10:15

I think I had the last bath with DS2 (who would hear the taps and come running) when he was 7 - TBH it was becoming a bit of a squeeze, with more person than water so it was about time.

They both still come and chat with me when I'm in the bath though (sigh)

And we got a blow-up hot tub, so whilst not naked or officially bathing, we do all sit in hot bubbly water all together still now, a couple of times a week (I've rigged it so we can watch a movie while sitting in it)

I have a 10 year old DD who still invites me into her bath or hops into mine. It's just me and her and we don't close the bathroom door and are both very comfortable naked. I'll respect her privacy if / when she shows she needs it. If she shut the bathroom door I would not go in...

I've never bathed with them, but my youngest is always attempting to get into the shower with me at 3. He loves the shower and my partner is constantly having to chase him out for me! He'd be in there 5 or 6 times a day if he could. Sadly space isn't an issue with a shower and I know he'll be trying to get in for years yet.

When they were around 10 / year 6, they started having showers by themselves and washing their own hair. Much easier than bath times which seemed to go on for years (3 dc).

4 year old DS jumps in the shower or bath if he catches me in one but I'm pregnant and we're running out of space! Plus he spends the whole time driving hot wheels over me which is not very appealing Grin he can bath with the baby when she comes.

pyjamams13 · 23/06/2021 11:08

My kids 8 and 6 always used to jump in with me. haven't being getting many baths lately and being getting showers but the six year old defo will still come in with me. The 8 year old probably not now, he's just started wanting baths more on his own away from his brother.
